Anime classics that we should not forget.
Today, we remember the stories of adventurers who roam the vastness of the interstellar ocean. They are space pirates and bandits, bounty hunters and artifact seekers, treasure hunters and troublemakers.
Dashing heroes, exciting plots, bright worlds – these stories deserve to be shared with as many anime fans as possible.
1. Space Adventure Cobra, 1982
The distant future. Ordinary employee Johnson, after visiting the Trip Movie company to watch a "dream adventure," realizes that he is actually the space pirate Cobra, who faked his death, changed his appearance and lived for five years as a normal person.
And now the only owner of a psychogun in the galaxy, built into his left hand, together with the android Lady, sets out to meet adventures again. Ahead lies a treasure hunt, the path to which is shown by Captain Nelson's map, fragments of which are tattooed on the backs of his triplets.
2. Dirty Pair, 1985-1988
In the mid-22nd century, the Federation is beset by problems – space piracy, the tyranny of the super-rich, the experiments of irresponsible scientists, the intrigues of planetary rulers. The Federation hires the Trouble Consultant team to keep order – despite its peaceful name, it is a private military corporation.
The agents roam the planets, resolving crisis situations. The most effective team among them are the Lovely Angels – two girls, Kei and Yuri. In the galaxy they are better known as the Dirty Pair, although the girls can't stand this nickname. But what can you do when the Angels can easily smash an entire city during a mission?
3. Lost Universe, 1998
The young mercenary Kain Blueriver, captain of the starship Sword-Breaker, whose AI has the appearance of the beauty Canal Vorfield, wanders through space, taking on any job.
One day, while on a mission for the Galactic Police, he meets detective Millie Nocturne. Soon Millie becomes part of the Sword-Breaker crew, although her relationship with Kain is far from good at first.
As the characters go on various missions, they encounter the machinations of the Nightmare criminal organization. In the end, their confrontation turns into a merciless war.
4. Arcadia of My Youth, 1982
End of the 30th century. The Solar Federation lost the war to the Illumidus Empire, and Earth fell into the hands of the invaders. Captain Harlock, who distinguished himself in many battles, has been dismissed from service by order of the puppet government.
Trying to help his beloved Maya, Harlock comes into conflict with the Illumidians. An acquaintance with the brilliant mechanic Tochiro brings Harlock to the bridge of the innovative battleship Arcadia.
After a series of adventures, Harlock, who has lost his beloved and been declared an outlaw, goes into space and becomes a symbol of freedom on Earth. Thus was born the legend of the most famous pirate in the galaxy.
5. Galaxy Express 999, 1978-1981
In the year 2122, Earthlings have colonized the galaxy, and instead of spaceships, they use space trains – Galaxy Expresses. In this world, the rich can become immortal thanks to mechanical bodies.
The poor teenager Tetsuro also dreams of immortality, so he tries to get on the Express 999, which leaves Earth once a year to a planet where a mecha body can be obtained for free. With the help of a mysterious woman named Maetel, the boy manages to board a train that flies to Andromeda, stopping at various planets along the way.
Traveling through the galaxy, Tetsuro gets into dangerous adventures and gradually realizes that immortality is not a goal worth striving for.
