Fantasy is one of the most popular genres in all fields, be it books, movies or TV series. Magic, alternate history, other worlds – all this can become an inexhaustible source of inspiration for the viewer and help to distract from the routine of everyday life.
1. Kaiju No.8, 2024
A 32-year-old janitor's dream was to join an elite squad for eliminating giant monsters, but after failing several tests, he resigned and became a disposer of monster remains.
Fate gives the man another chance: he gains the ability to transform into a powerful humanoid kaiju and finds himself in the crosshairs of that very squad.
We already saw something similar in Attack on Titan, but the series has a lot of original ideas. For example, one of the main storylines involves a kaiju that has learned to transform into a human.

A fun adventure of a DnD group in a huge dungeon with cooking all kinds of monsters became one of the most talked about series of last year, not only because of the beautiful animation of the Trigger studio.
The dungeon here is not a static backdrop for the characters' journey, but a living world with well-thought-out relationships between its inhabitants. With each episode, you become more and more immersed in the lore of this world, which grows darker and more tragic.
3. Dead Dead Demons Dededede Destruction, 2024
An alien ship looms over Tokyo, but high school friends Ouran Nakagawa and Kadode Koyama are not particularly bothered by it, nor by the accompanying political fuss and military actions.
They still go to school, play games, and take exams. The girls cling to the old reality with all their might and try very, very hard not to notice what is happening around them.
The author of the original manga with the expressive title Dead Dead Demons Dededede Destruction, Inio Asano, is an outstanding classic of our time.

If you've only seen the first episode, you'll understand that the story of a humble conspiracy theorist possessed by an evil spirit and a rude psychic girl battling eccentric ghosts and aliens is a real treat.
The series has everything we love about Japanese animation: a crazy plot with a romantic touch, wild action, emotions turned up to the max, and stunning visuals.
It seems like the series had no chance of failing. On the one hand, the original source is from Yukinobu Tatsu, who helped Tatsuki Fujimoto with Fire Punch and the first part of Chainsaw Man. On the other hand, the Science SARU studio knows how to make really unusual and beautiful titles.
5. Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf, 2024
The main question that worried fans: Does a remake of the anime make sense 15 years later? And will it be able to convey the atmosphere of Lawrence and Holo's journey as accurately? Well, the first season does just that.
Director Takeo Takahashi, who returned to the title, carefully maintains the measured pace of the narrative and the intricacies of the trade. Special attention was paid to the animation of the wise wolf, which allowed her mood to be conveyed better and the witty dialogues of the main couple to be deepened.
