5 Anime Sequels to Look Forward to in Spring 2024

5 Anime Sequels to Look Forward to in Spring 2024

Next season looks like a season of sequels, for sure.

Demon Slayer

Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba) has introduced an entire generation of fans to anime. As such, they are eagerly awaiting the new season. While the leaks for the movie are already there, said movie is essentially just a preview: the new season is airing in April.

While the season is titled "Hashira Training Arc", this arc is actually pretty short. So short, in fact, that without heavily damaging the pacing you wouldn't be able to stretch it into a full cour. This made fans speculate that the anime will also cover the beginning of the next arc, which is the last one in the series.

My Hero Academia

Past few seasons of My Hero Academia (Boku no Hero Academia) haven't been very well-received. Fans have complained about a lack of progress and diminishing visual quality. While the anime is still considered good, it could have been better.

Interestingly enough, it seems that Season 7 of MHA isn't going to start until May — while the Spring season starts in April. Believe it or not, this actually gives fans hope. This means that the arcs in S7 probably won't be pointlessly stretched, and the studio will have more time to work on the series. According to Crunchyroll, BNHA Season 7 premieres May 4, 2024.

KonoSuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World!

KonoSuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World! (Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!) is one of the most unique isekai out there. It combines the sense of adventure with very unique slapstick comedy, but despite the obvious parody nature of the anime, fans fell in love with the characters. They have been waiting for a proper TV sequel for a while, and they are finally getting it.

Sound! Euphonium

Kyoto Animation is probably the most beloved anime studio out there. It's praised for both its incredible animation and its treatment of animators, which is commonly agreed to be the best in the entire industry.

While we received multiple movies for the Sound! Euphonium (Hibike! Euphonium) franchise, the last TV season was almost 8 years ago. We're finally getting S3 now — just don't forget to watch the movies before getting into it.

Black Butler

Black Butler (Kuroshitsuji) fans have seen many ups and downs for their franchise. From many fillers in the first season and the disastrous second season, the anime didn't have much hope, until Book of Circus actually turned things around. Sadly, the only content we got after it was an OVA and a movie.

Now, the next season is finally airing. It's been almost a decade since the anime was actually relevant, and fans are incredibly happy to see it back.
