Demon Slayer: To The Hashira Training (Kimetsu no Yaiba: Hashira Geiko-hen) has premiered theatrically in Japan, and the movie is already doing really well, dominating the Japanese box office. Is it just the power of Demon Slayer hype or is the movie that good? We hope both.
There have been leaks
Such a tremendous premiere that goes along with the highest of expectations was never meant to remain exclusive for long, though, and the leaks from the movie started appearing all over the Internet.
The opening theme for the movie and the new season has been unofficially leaked. In terrible quality, since it was recorded on a mobile device in a movie theater, but still.
Will we get more Muzan?
Although the opening was pretty standard for Demon Slayer with its thrilling action, hilarious moments and just our favorite characters looking pompous, fans have noticed an interesting detail: Muzan is very much present in the leaked video.
We didn’t see much of the main villain in the previous season, and it was upsetting for so many viewers. However, if the opening can be trusted, we’ll learn more about him in the next season.
But the most interesting thing is the final moments of the opening that show Tanjiro advancing Muzan who is also getting ready for a fight. This scene alone generated a couple of theories about the upcoming season.
The most upsetting idea is that no actual fight is coming and that it was just a metaphor to make the viewers understand that the training with the Hashira is a very crucial moment for Tanjiro’s character development.
He’s getting stronger and more skilled, he’s now ready to fight Muzan, and this whole arc is going to set the stage for the final season and the battle between Tanjiro and him. We all know it’s the endgame, after all.
Still, there is also a more positive suggestion. It’s fair to say that the story will not reach its conclusion in Season 4, and we shouldn’t expect the final boss battle between Tanjiro and Muzan just yet.
However, there might be a small fight coming. We already know from the leaks that there will be some anime-only content in the adaptation, so why can’t it be a Tanjiro vs Muzan encounter?
It doesn’t have to be something groundbreaking because we (and Ufotable, we’re sure) want to keep it for the grand finale of Demon Slayer, but giving us a glimpse of what this finale may look like would be more than exciting
