On September 29, 2024, the final chapter of one of the most successful manga in history, Jujutsu Kaisen, was released.
Jujutsu Kaisen is a classic shonen where heroes find the way to their dreams and save the world through battles. At the end of the story, we decided to choose five of the most spectacular and memorable battles.
1. Gojo vs Jogo
Satoru Gojo is one of the most powerful characters in Jujutsu Kaisen and the mentor of the main character, Yuji. In the battle with the curse called Jogo, we first see Gojo's unique abilities. For example, everything that approaches Satoru slows down and never reaches its target.
The fight with Gojo introduces Yuji and the audience to the most important technique in this world that often decides the outcome of battles – Domain Expansion. Essentially, this is the creation of a small magical space that exists according to the rules of its creator.
The power of Gojo's Domain Expansion turns out to be much greater than Jogo's, but the curse manages to escape at the last moment.
2. Gojo vs Toji
A battle from the past, when Gojo was young. He had to face his complete opposite – the assassin Toji.
The enemy took advantage of every weakness in Gojo's seemingly invincible technique. He waited for the man to lose concentration, used other curses to hide his presence, and managed to catch Gojo off guard twice.
Thanks to a well-thought-out strategy and excellent physical training, Toji was able to defeat Gojo even though he does not possess the cursed energy.
3. Mechamaru vs Mahito
The battle takes place in the seventh episode of the second season of the anime. It was the directorial debut of young animator Yooto, and thanks to him, the entire episode is filled with references to cult mecha anime.
Instead of an ordinary battle of a secondary character, it turned out to be a memorable combination of drama and action with references to Evangelion and Gurren Lagann. And it is also one of the most vivid and surreal battles of the series, putting a giant robot against a human centipede that Mahito has transformed into.
4. Sukuna vs Jogo
One of the most spectacular battles took place between two curses. Sukuna and Jogo have no deep backstory, they just wanted to measure their strength.
The two curses fly between skyscrapers at great speed, easily inflicting wounds that would be fatal if they were humans. Jogo plunges entire buildings into lava and blows them up with a single wave of his hand.
However, Sukuna does not use even a tenth of his power in this battle. Thus, Jogo's cherished dream of curses replacing humans is shattered by the harsh reality. Sukuna emerges victorious from this battle.
5. Todo and Yuji vs Mahito
It is Yuji's final confrontation with Mahito. By this point, the curse has killed three of the hero's friends and countless innocents. In this battle, Yuji realizes that he is no different than Mahito, except for his desire to protect his loved ones and destroy the curses.
Todo and Yuji complement each other perfectly in this battle. Todo's technique allows him to swap any two objects by slapping his palms together. And Yuji can deliver devastating blows with cursed energy. Together, these two techniques allow the heroes to back Mahito into a corner.
In the final battle, Yuji embraces his dark side and defeats his mortal enemy.
