5 Lesser-Known Anime Series You've Been Missing Out On

Some anime are very popular, other ones not so much. But it does not mean that they are not worth a watch.

In this list, we want to present several anime that are often overlooked and rarely recommended, even though they are great, and you will probably love them.

Dorohedoro

In a world divided into the realm of humans and the realm of sorcerers, humans are not valued very much. They are experimented upon without much consideration by the sorcerers, and the main character is a victim of such experimentation. He does not have his memories, but he is going to figure out who is responsible for giving him a reptilian head and a lot of other problems. This anime has a good number of members on MyAnimeList, but it is still not recommended very often.

Kemono Jihen

A paranormal investigator arrives at a village to investigate livestock corpses appearing seemingly for no reason. He recruits a local boy to help him, even though almost everyone in the village dislikes that boy. Together, the main characters will investigate the strange happenings in the village and find disturbing answers. This anime has more than 350,000 members on MyAnimeList, but it is not very often recommended.

Good Luck Girl! (Binbō-gami ga!)

The two main characters are a very lucky girl and the goddess of poverty. It becomes clear, one day, that the lucky girl drains everyone around her of luck, which the goddess of poverty should fix. Hilarity ensues. The anime has less than 300,000 members on MyAnimeList, even though it promises a lot of funny chaos.

Kono Oto Tomare! Sounds of Life

Kono Oto Tomare! is a slice-of-life story about a school music band. The main character, Chika, was told by his grandfather that Chika could never understand koto, a traditional musical instrument. Chika has behavior problems, which is why the head of the koto club at his school is reluctant to allow him to participate, but Chika proves his intentions are serious. With less than 300,000 members on MyAnimeList, this is not a popular anime despite the sweet plot.

Kyousougiga (Kyōsōgiga)

Technically an original net animation, this is a story about alternate reality created by a monk who could bring anything he drew to life. When he was told to stop causing trouble with his drawings, the monk with his wife and three children simply left the real world in favor of a world of the monk's creation. Unfortunately, the monk and his wife eventually disappear, leaving the children to care for the paper world. This story has very few watchers on MyAnimeList, but it is quite compelling.

Fame is a fickle thing, and it often is not distributed fairly between great works of art. We hope that you will find something of interest on this list and right this wrong a little.
