Some of the highest quality titles you can watch right now.

Netflix began developing its anime direction in 2018, and has since released dozens of its own titles in addition to its extensive library of classic projects.

Here's a look at five of the series that have the best reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.

1. Pluto, 2023

The plot of the anime is set in the distant future. The action takes place in various European and Eastern countries that have experienced a real catastrophe – the 39th Central Asian War.

In the new world of the future, people coexist with robots. Iron machines have rights, they work and take vacations, start their own families and raise children, sometimes even human ones.

The main character is Detective Gesicht. He has to investigate two rather complex murders. In one case, the people's favorite robot pacifist Mont Blanc was killed, in the second case, the killer's victim was a person engaged in promoting laws on the equality of humans and robots.

2. Delicious in Dungeon, 2024-...

Knight Laios and his team lose a battle with a red dragon. During the battle, Falin, the swordsman's sister, saves the group, but ends up in the monster's stomach herself. Time is running out: if they don't hurry, Falin will be completely digested – and it will be impossible to resurrect her.

Laios is helped by two loyal friends: the elven sorceress Marcille and the halfling Chilchuck. The team tries to get some food before the rescue, but the lack of money forces the knight to get food directly from the dungeon. The dwarf Senshi, who appeared out of nowhere, helps them cook up an excellent dinner of a walking mushroom and a large scorpion.

The friends set out on their journey as a group of four – they have a long and dangerous journey ahead of them, full of monsters, new acquaintances and various delicacies.

3. Vinland Saga, 2019-2023

Vinland Saga is one of the most important titles of our time. The reason for the popularity is simple – the creators do not try to complicate the plot and give exactly what you expect from a story about a teenager who dreams of becoming a legendary Viking and avenging the death of his father: action, cruelty and justice.

With such an introduction, it seems that the viewer is waiting for a somewhat straightforward story, but Vinland Saga offers a much more ambiguous and intricate plot.

4. Onimusha, 2023

The beginning of the Edo period is a time of turmoil for Japan. The country is still torn apart by internal conflicts, and the Genma demon invasion has begun. The legendary samurai Musashi Miyamoto is sent to stop them. The aging warrior must cross medieval Japan and try to restore peace on his own.

The Netflix anime is based on the Capcom video game series of the same name. The production is directed by Takashi Miike himself, and Miyamoto is based on legendary actor Toshiro Mifune, who portrayed the iconic samurai in Akira Kurosawa's films.

5. Dorohedoro, 2020

The main character is called Caiman, and his goal is to find the one who turned him into a giant reptile.

Caiman has completely lost his memory, but this could not have happened without witchcraft, which no longer works on him. So he deals with all the sorcerers, hoping to meet the one who turned him into a monster. Caiman is aided in his search by his equally mysterious friend, Nikaido.

The two are opposed by a businessman wizard and a killer with his partner. But in Dorohedoro there is no usual division into good and bad, all characters do terrible things, but at the same time they show humanity and evoke sympathy despite the confrontation with each other.
