There are only seven most popular sins, does that leave someone without a weapon?
Berserk of Gluttony (Boushoku no Berserk) spoilers ahead!
Summary
- Fans are glad to see Myne and her weapon, Sloth.
- They wonder when other sins are going to show up.
- Fans seem to like the use of deadly sins and theorize about who will be the odd one out.
In the world of Berserk of Gluttony, social status is determined by the skills you have, but there seem to be a few skills that are different – the seven deadly sins that distort the god-given system of leveling up. And fans are happy to have already met four of the bearers of these skills!
Myne and Sloth
The mysterious woman from a couple episodes ago returns to introduce herself in episode 6. She is Myne of Wrath, and she seems to know more about the sin skills than Fate does. She also might be familiar with Greed. She is an instant fan favorite, with fans being especially happy about her design but also appreciative of her normally calm and at times explosive personality. Her weapon is Sloth, which means that we have four out of seven deadly sins. Fans on Reddit are especially impatient to meet Lust some time in the future.
Theories
Some theorizing has already been happening. First of all, fans wonder why some skills belong to weapons while others belong to people. They theorize that Greed and Sloth might have been humans at some point and were turned into weapons, either willingly or not. Alternatively, it is possible that there are both humans and weapons with the same skills, which means that somewhere, there is a weapon with the Gluttony skill.
Another theory is that due to there being seven sins, someone, either a weapon or a person, may be left without a companion. Of course, it doesn't have to be the case, seeing how there might be multiple people with the same skill. However, the deadly sin skills do appear special, to the point where Fate has to be taught about them. They are not something widely known.
Some redditors suggest that the seven deadly sins is a mainstream knowledge, but other sins might be either taken from the history of deadly sins or just made up. After all, as long as the skill disrupts the god-given order of things, it can count as a deadly sin in the Berserk of Gluttony universe. Overall, fans like the deadly sins angle of Berserk of Gluttony and are waiting for more interesting sins to come.
