Blue Box (Ao no Hako) is an upcoming romantic comedy and sports anime series, based on the manga of the same name written and illustrated by Kouji Miura. The anime adaptation was announced a month ago in the 51st issue of Weekly Shounen Jump, and Jump Festa 2024 just made us a little bit happier with a teaser for the series.
Blue Box follows Taiki Inomata, who is a member of a badminton team at Eimei Academy. Chinatsu Kano is on the girls’ basketball team, and she’s the reason why Taiki’s heart beats faster: the boy has a crush on her. Chinatsu is a rising and very promising basketball star, which only makes her more unapproachable for Taiki, whose popularity is nowhere near the same level as hers.
The romance would have zero chances of becoming real, but fate is kind to Taiki, and somehow Chinatsu has to move in with his family. Now he has the chance to develop their relationship, while they’re both trying hard to take part in the Nationals.
