Is it possible to predict how the story ends?

Chainsaw Man is one of the best selling manga in the world, and its insane popularity only increased after the anime adaptation that aired in 2022. With such an unusual premise and an engaging story, this series has won the hearts of millions of fans. No wonder they are eager to find out what will happen next and how the story will end. Of course, it's impossible to predict the ending now, but fans have some ideas.
When the first part of the manga was finished, there were some unanswered questions. Tatsuki Fujimoto (the mangaka of Chainsaw Man) himself admitted leaving some things vague in order to make the second part of the manga easier to do. This vagueness gave the mangaka a lot of freedom for his further writing. However, we have a feeling that if the ending of Part Two follows suit and leaves a lot of ambiguity, too, the fans will not be so forgiving.

When it comes to predicting the ending, many readers confess that they don't want to speculate. Fujimoto is a great storyteller, capable of designing unanticipated plot twists and bringing absolute horror upon his readers. Some fans don't feel the need to try their chances at predicting, they just want to let the mangaka work and get to the conclusion at his own pace.
Nevertheless, fans have noticed some patterns.
For example, they mention Fujimoto's love for subverting expectations. The first part of the manga built the conflict on the idea that the Gun Devil would be the main antagonist of the series, and most people believed it, but in reality Makima was the one we should have been afraid of.
Another thing that comes to fans' minds is the death of important characters. Many readers are confident that the manga ending will bring little to no happiness because Fujimoto has already killed off three of the four main characters, and the prediction is that Denji might follow suit.
However, not everyone looks at this the same way. They say, all of their deaths fit the theme of Chainsaw Man perfectly, thus were necessary, but it doesn't mean that it's a type of story when everyone dies miserably.
Some fans mention Fujimoto saying that the main goal of his story is showing a hero stop being a hero. This means that Denji might lose his powers and not be the Chainsaw Man anymore. But even this doesn't make an unhappy ending a sure thing.
Most bets are on a bittersweet ending. Even if Denji is going to lose his abilities, he might still have a chance of having a normal life (as normal as the setting of Chainsaw Man allows). And we just have to wait and see if this is really the end that Fujimoto has in mind.
