It’s been a year since the first season of Chainsaw Man aired, and fans have been dying to learn more details about the sequel, which was just a matter of time due to the immense popularity of the series and all the hype surrounding it. What the series was lacking were updates, and finally! Chainsaw Man the Movie: Reze Arc (Chainsaw Man Movie: Reze-hen) has been announced!
Bomb Girl arc is getting adapted
As obvious from the name of the movie, it’s going to adapt the Reze arc (also known as Bomb Girl arc), and while you might have not expected that, some fans predicted this arc turning into a movie some time ago, and now it’s been confirmed.
Reze made her first appearance in Episode 12 of the Chainsaw Man anime, and although we didn’t know who she was and didn’t even properly see her, Reze was teased in the last seconds of the season.
The Bomb Girl arc starts with Denji meeting a girl, who seems to like him. It doesn’t take long for Denji to like her back, but is it going to be a successful love story? Knowing Chainsaw Man and its cruelty, we highly doubt that. But we’re ready to experience this part of the story and meet Reze, of course, who is one of the fan favorites.

Along with the news about the movie being in production, a small teaser for it has been revealed. Although there isn’t much in the teaser, it can already tell us a lot. Judging from all the cute moments we see, there’s definitely going to be a couple of romantic things. But don’t get your hopes up, the heart wrenching soundtrack and the overall vibe of the teaser promise something terrible and soul crushing. The final moments of the teaser are especially distressing, since we can see Denji and Reze holding hands and them going up in flames. As can be expected from Chainsaw Man, a happy ending is hardly a possibility.
We are hyped
We don’t think we even need to say how hyped the fans are. They’ve been waiting for details about the Chainsaw Man adaptation for ages, and Reze has always been loved by the fandom, so the news about the movie got everyone excited to no end. Unfortunately, the release date and any further details are yet to be revealed, but we’re hoping for the movie to be out at the end of 2024 or early 2025. After all the MAPPA commotion, it’s better to wait than to receive an unfinished project.
