Does Solo Leveling’s Jinwoo Have the Potential to Become the Next Gojo Satoru?

Does Solo Leveling’s Jinwoo Have the Potential to Become the Next Gojo Satoru?

He may try, that’s for sure.

Summary:

  • Popular shounen characters usually have two things in common: power and looks.
  • Jinwoo has great potential in these areas.
  • He has all the chances to become the next favorite anime character.

When a new awesome anime character appears, it’s natural that fans would compare them with other popular characters. The latest Solo Leveling (Ore dake Level Up na Ken) episode did make Jinwoo look awesome. But can he ever reach Jujutsu Kaisen’s Gojo level of popularity?

What does a character need to be popular?

It’s fair to say that the first thing a shounen character must have to become an absolute fan favorite is immense power. Just look at two of the most popular anime characters — Gojo and Levi!

Both are menaces on the battlefield, the strongest in their respective universes and the best generators of epic combat moments that keep you on the edge of your seat.

Another thing a character seems to need is looks. We won’t even try to deny it, Gojo is extremely attractive, his character design is on another level, and his eyes are the thing curses should be happy to see before they die.

Episode 4 of Solo Leveling gave us a glimpse of what Jinwoo can do. He’s leveled up so much and so fast, that he’s already capable of one-shotting big bosses. And we know that he’ll just be getting stronger and stronger with each episode.

We’re not sure he’ll ever reach the Gojo level of powerful, but he’ll definitely be the strongest in Solo Leveling, and that’s attractive for sure.

We can’t forget about the animation, either. Fans say that if the quality of adaptation remains high (or even gets better), and Jinwoo’s fights are animated properly, it’ll add some hotness points to him for sure.

Speaking of hotness… Jinwoo’s character design is not the most appealing one in the first episodes of the series, but we shouldn’t forget about the trailers and the opening, where he looks a little different. More attractive, for that matter. We just have to wait some more to see him like that in the actual series.

That said, Jinwoo is not yet a Top 5 anime husband material, but fans promise that he will get there. If the anime adaptation sticks to the source material and keeps surprising us with great quality, there’s a good chance that Jinwoo will join all the popular anime character tops and gain so many stans that even Gojo won’t feel protected.

He may try, that’s for sure.
