New elf in Frieren: Beyond Journey's End!

Recently, Frieren: Beyond Journey's End began an arc dedicated to the Mage exam to become a first level mage. Frieren and Fern decide to take the test in order to continue their adventure to the north.
The arc has already surprised with some small changes — there is a bit more action and many new characters have been revealed. Episode 20 introduces another character — the mysterious elf Serie, who may be related to Frieren.
Spectacular appearance
Although the main character of the series is an elf, it is not easy to meet other representatives of this race in the fantasy universe of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. In fact, we only know Frieren and the mysterious monk Kraft, who appeared briefly in Episode 11.
Elves are fascinating characters — their longevity aligns perfectly with the show's central theme. However, we don't know much about this race — only that there aren't many of them despite their long lives and that they are alien to the emotions and affections we're accustomed to.
Unexpectedly for many viewers, in Episode 20 the identity of the strongest mage, who also happens to be an elf, was revealed. Of course, it was not said directly, but the characteristic ears and too young appearance define the new heroine.
In the battle with Frieren Richter said that the reward for passing the exam would be the ability to receive any spell from the great magician Serie. Serie is the head of the magical organization that is conducting the exam. Her goal is to find the strongest mages and bring them to her side.
Role in the story
Despite the fact that Serie has only appeared for a moment, we can already say that she will play a big role in the story, at least in the arc dedicated to the exam. Frieren's face makes it clear that she knows the mage, and they may have interacted quite closely in the past.
Most likely, Serie is older than Frieren, since Richter said that the elf has been accumulating her knowledge for thousands of years.
Fans were immediately excited, wondering why the creators had added another powerful elf to the story. Probably there will be (or already is) antagonism between the characters based on different views of magic.
This issue has already been addressed in the arc, but given Frieren's very non-serious attitude towards her power and the role of magic, her clash with Series could be impressive. Especially since the new heroine seems very arrogant and overbearing.
