Frieren: Beyond Journey's End
Frieren: Beyond Journey's End (Sousou no Frieren) is an ongoing anime that shows what happens after a journey ends. The titular character Frieren is a nearly immortal elf who used to be a part of a group of heroes that defeated the Demon King.
Since their goal was achieved, the travelers parted and rarely got together after that except for the day of the funeral of one of the human heroes, Himmel. Frieren realizes that she now cares for those with shorter lifespans and decides to embark on a new journey, to Heaven, where she hopes to meet those she has lost.
Average Household Rating
Episode 12 of Frieren has outranked Doraemon based on the Average Household Rating in Japan. Doraemon is a relatively popular anime about a boy and a robot cat from the future that tries to get the boy to change. It scored 3.7 in Average Household Rating, while Frieren got 4.0.
Fans point out that Frieren has been relatively stable in its scores, never falling below 3.0, but the anime also started with a bang, scoring 6.8 on the day of its premiere.
Note that despite scoring 4.0, Frieren did not reach the top of the Average Household Rating. And below Doraemon, Firefighter Daigo: Rescuer in Orange (Megumi no Daigo: Kyuukoku no Orange) scored 3.5.
