Sometimes you can’t just One-Punch your foes, you know?
Saitama (One-Punch Man) is widely known on the internet for his feats of incredible strength, Caped Baldy has obtained a memetic status of an anime Chuck Norris, said to be easily able to defeat any and all characters with a single punch.
Which we find to be a bit of a stretch. While our beloved Caped Baldy is strong, there are at least five anime villains he would not be able to overcome:
1. Majin Buu (Dragon Ball Z) eats Saitama
Majin Buu is a magical alien putty with only two interests: having fun, and eating candy. Like Kirby. And sometimes, he turns living people into candy and eats them. Like an evil Kirby.
DBZ has been blowing up entire planets since Frieza’s first form. Frieza was overshadowed by Androids, whose power was dwarfed by Cell — and Buu is introduced even after that. Needless to say, there’s a reason to doubt that Saitama would be able to even make it to Buu, let alone beat him.
2. Aizen (Bleach) stabs away with no repercussions
Aizen Sousuke possesses one of the most troublesome powers in Bleach — Perfect Hypnosis (Kanzen Saimin). With it, he can fully control his opponent’s senses, making it all but impossible for Saitama to land a hit. Combined with his immortality and the sheer strength of Bleach characters, this matchup is very one-sided.
And let’s not even go into Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War and the sheer impossibility of Saitama ever defeating Yhwach.
3. Accelerator (Toaru Kagaku no Railgun) is the One-Touch Man
Academy City from A Certain Scientific Railgun is a city of espers. These psychics are divided into five ranks, and among the highest Rank 5, Accelerator is the strongest. He has the ability to change directions of any force in his vicinity. This could mean flying by altering gravity, negating gunfire from sniper rifles, or even reversing someone’s bloodstream to kill them instantly. Ah, and a lot of these abilities are passive.
Step aside, Saitama, here comes the One-Touch Man.
4. Antispiral (Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann) overpowers infinitely
In Gurren-Lagann, your force of will is the key to limitless power, the Spiral Energy. There is no upper limit to what could be achieved with it — even a gargantuan mecha the size of the visible Universe! And there is an equal opposite energy to it — the Anti-Spiral Energy, wielded by Antispiral.
Now, it’s been stated by One that Saitama is simply as strong as he would’ve been at the end of his story — which makes an infinitely powerful villain, well, too powerful for the Caped Baldy.
5. Kenzou (JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken) teaches the importance of feng shui
Each Part of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure has a Stand that could defeat Saitama. In Part 3, Death XIII and Cream. In Part 4, Killer Queen and Super Fly. In Part 5, Green Day and Grateful Dead. But let’s go with someone far less known: Kenzou from Part 6, and his Dragon Dream ability.
Kenzou is an elderly martial artist and an assassin, and his Stand ability makes him unparalleled in this regard. Dragon Dream is, essentially, luck manipulation through concepts of feng shui, and the only way to survive a battle against it is to follow this Stand’s impartially given advice. It was rough for Foo Fighters, and even worse for Saitama, since in order to perceive a Stand, you have to have a Stand of your own.
