Shy spoilers ahead!

Summary

  • Kufufu is an Amarariruku member who wants to make the world laugh.
  • She seems to operate under cartoon rules and never gets damaged, although she pretends to be hurt sometimes.
  • She manifests whatever she wants out of nowhere, from bombs to firefighter clothes.
  • Kufufu’s abilities and unpredictability make her very dangerous and seemingly invincible.

Kufufu’s Goal

Kufufu is an Amarariruku member (https://letsweaboo.com/news/shys-antagonists-stigma-making-friends-might-scare-you-off_a145), and she wants to make everyone laugh. Her behavior is similar to that of a gag character, and that checks out. She pretends to be injured for “fun,” pulls out large bombs and mallets seemingly out of nowhere, and she is fully protected from Shy’s fire because she puts on a firefighter costume. She is honestly overpowered, and we will show you why.

Cartoon Logic

Cartoon logic can have many applications, but in a battle, it is based on the idea that nobody gets really hurt. For example, when a bomb detonates in Tom and Jerry, the worst they get is a mildly burned look.

Cartoon logic definitely applies to Kufufu, and she is not hurt even when she pretends to be. When Kufufu gets hit by Shy’s fire, she, just like Tom and Jerry, only looks slightly singed and upset before revealing that it was a joke and she is fine.

At the same time, those around Kufufu do not seem to be protected by cartoon rules. When Kufufu gives Shy a “friendly” bomb, and it detonates, Kufufu is fine, but Shy seems to be hurt. In other words, only Kufufu is invincible, and that is a clear advantage she has over the others.

Hammerspace

Hammerspace usually refers to an unrealistic space where cartoon characters may store things. For example, when Tom pulls out a bat from seemingly nowhere, he uses his hammerspace.

Kufufu has many things in her hammerspace; she even shows it off to Shy. Among other things, she acquires a bomb, mallet, water bucket, and firefighter costume from that space. In other words, she can pull almost anything out of her hammerspace at any time, making her exceptionally dangerous.

Unexpected Moves

Fans point out that Kufufu is not only dangerous because of her abilities; she also has quite the imagination. For example, Kufufu likes to pretend to be injured, and in one instance, she did it by letting Shy’s hand pass through her body. She then pretended to vomit blood and started saying her last words before announcing that it was a joke and kicking Shy in the face.

The girl is unpredictable, and as an opponent, that makes her dangerous, along with her being virtually invincible and capable of summoning whatever she wants into the real world. We do not know how to even begin to fight Kufufu, but we hope that Shy figures it out in the next episode.
