The movie follows a 17-year-old girl, Suzume, who stumbles across a stranger looking for an abandoned area. The girl helps Souta, the said stranger, find the place, and decides to follow the man out of curiosity. That’s how she finds a mysterious door, behind which there’s a hidden universe. Suzume leaves the place but it’s too late: the door has been opened, and the evil from another universe roams free now, wreaking havoc on the country.
