Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 251 has just been released, and it's once again the right time to talk about Megumi. This boy has suffered enough, and we don't think that he can handle any more. And he himself admits that.
What's happening to Megumi?
Since the moment Sukuna took over Megumi's body, there was one question on fans' minds: is there a chance for Megumi to come back?
There have been various theories about him being dead and never coming back. Or him coming back but as a villain of the story. But all of them have one thing in common: Megumi is broken and will need a lot of help and therapy if he's ever to come back. And the fresh chapter proves that.
Yuta and Yuji are battling Sukuna, but Megumi is always on their minds and they want to help him and rescue him. But when they finally get a chance to get a glimpse of Megumi, the boy looks completely destroyed.

Megumi is not like Yuji
Both Megumi and Yuji underwent similar developments: Sukuna took over their bodies, wreaked havoc while being in control, made them suffer and toyed with their feelings. However, Yuji is still fighting, and Megumi is shattered. But why is it so?
Yuji's trauma has been developing on screen. We watch him discover new things, form new bonds, make new friends. That's why it was as shocking for the readers to see Nobara, Nanami and Gojo die as it was for Yuji. Fans know and feel Yuji's suffering.
But Megumi's bonds were explored off screen. We don't really know the depth of his love for his sister, we can only guess. The readers don't realize the true meaning of his trauma because they never got the chance to fully experience it.
Still, Megumi's loss was huge, he cared about his sister dearly and seeing her go like that, killed by his own cursed technique, was more than just heartbreaking. On top of that, Megumi took the damage of 5 Domain Expansions, that's why some fans think that he might even be braindead. There's definitely something wrong with his soul.
That's why even though Megumi's and Yuji's experiences seem similar, they have influenced them in two completely different ways.
