Jujutsu Kaisen Manga Theory That Will Make All the Deaths Satisfying

Will it all be worth it?

Jujutsu Kaisen manga spoilers ahead!

Summary:

  • Jujutsu Kaisen is notorious for killing off important characters.
  • Their deaths might be part of a bigger plan, though.
  • There are a few theories that say we can see these characters again.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 proved that the series can be absolutely cruel to its characters, and if you’re a manga reader, you know that it’ll only get worse.

The series’ characters tend to drop like flies in the most unexpected ways, and while it provides an exciting feeling of danger, it can also hurt or even irritate the readers a lot.

Unsatisfying deaths

Where do we even begin? There have been so many dead characters already, and manga readers are sure that more are coming, so they’re already buying paper tissues to wipe their tears.

Nobara, Gojo, Kenjaku, Megumi ━ all these characters are presumably dead. And we say presumably because you can never know with Jujutsu Kaisen. Moreover, the most upsetting thing is that their deaths are extremely unsatisfying.

Nobara and Megumi are a bit more difficult topic because their status is still unknown. Nobara’s body was taken off the battlefield, and no one has heard anything about her ever since.

Megumi might still be somewhere inside the body that Sukuna is currently using as a vessel. But there’s a high chance that it’s time to stop coping and admit that both of them (Nobara and Megumi) are never coming back.

Gojo and Kenjaku are a bit easier when it comes to this, since we’ve seen the first one split into halves and the second one decapitated, so their deaths are more or less confirmed. But then again, it’s Jujutsu Kaisen we’re talking about.

Death is important in the series

With so many important characters dead, there comes a question of meaning. Why are they dead? Was it just a mere shock factor? Why were their deaths handled in such an underwhelming way? Is it part of a plan? And some fans do think that there’s something more coming.

A lot of things in the series revolve around the nature of death, so it might be possible that the finale of the series will also have a somewhat connection to this theme.

What if more characters (or even all of them) die, too? And the story continues after their death. They might have to finish the final boss battle (i.e. Sukuna) in the afterlife. Still, there’s another theory.

What if the characters get reincarnated one way or another? It will provide another opportunity for character development, as Gojo might be reincarnated into a body with little to no cursed energy, and it will be curious to see him like that.

On top of that, fans will be ecstatic to learn that their faves are back and ready for more action. It will also explain the worrisome number of deaths happening in the series.

It might also remain just a theory, of course, and we will realize that Gege is just cruel. But we can hope, right?
