The main character, Aijo Rentaro, is rejected by the girl he likes on the last day of high school. This is the hundredth rejection for him, and the upset boy decides to go to the nearest temple to pray for the long-awaited mutual love.
The gods hear him and say that now Rentaro will definitely be lucky. And not just once, but a hundred times – and all the girls are ready to return his feelings sincerely. Aijo doesn't have to choose all of them at once, but it's not that easy: every girl he rejects will die.
So the boy decides to save them all by having an affair with each of them. However, he openly declares that she won't be the only one – but she will definitely be the happiest, being in a relationship with him.
The 100 Girlfriends Who Really Love You Is Not Your Typical Harem
The main difference from the stereotypical harem is that the entire title is an outright irony about the genre itself. The situations in which the characters find themselves are absurd, the emotions and feelings of the girls are exaggerated to the point of impossibility.
However, if in any similar plot the girls have to compete with each other, in The 100 Girlfriends everyone manages not only to establish friendly relations with each other, but also to be imbued with trust and sincere sympathy.
In contrast to the struggle for supremacy, the title offers an opportunity to see how things can be different in a familiar genre – that is why all the girls receive love and care equally, and no one is left out.
Season 2 Is No Worse Than Season 1
What did the first episode show? First of all, the opening and ending changed: new characters joined the already known ones. Second, the girls broke the fourth wall from the first seconds, reminding us of the end dates of the last season and the beginning of the current one.
This happens for a reason – because the girls are afraid that Rentaro will stop loving them after three months, they drink a potion that gives them a very unusual effect.
Finally, the episode introduces Kurumi – one of the main character's new lovers. Despite her prickly nature, she has a strange feature. What is it? You will find out when you watch Season 2.
