With new PV for Shaman King: Flowers, we get to hear the future opening song while learning a little more about the upcoming series.
Summary
Shaman King is an anime about shamans fighting for the title of Shaman King.
Shaman King: Flowers is a sequel to the reboot, which was the only adaptation to follow the manga to the end.
Fans were quite disappointed with the reboot, which is why they are cautious.
The reaction to the new PV is overwhelmingly positive.
Shaman King
Shaman King has the simple premise of shamans with various supernatural abilities fighting for the title of a Shaman King. The Shaman Fight happens once in 500 years, and the shaman who wins it receives nearly godlike powers.
Shaman King: Flowers is the sequel to Shaman King, and it will be about Hana, the son of the main character of the prequel, Yoh.
Watching the prequel would be helpful for those interested in Shaman King: Flowers. There are two anime adaptations of Shaman King; one of them began airing in 2001 and the other began airing in 2021. While the former is considered not perfect, especially when it comes to fights, the second one is largely disliked by fans. However, it’s the second adaptation that is true to the manga, as the first one had to make up its own ending because the manga was not finished at the time. If you want a cohesive story, you might have to watch the 2021 version. And, of course, you can always watch both. The more the merrier, right?
New PV
The new PV sets the date of the airing for Shaman King: Flowers, and it is January 9, 2024. The animation looks really nice, and the opening theme, “Turn the World” is upbeat and fits well into our expectations based on how iconic the original series’ opening was.
“Turn the World” is performed by Nana Mizuki. She has already worked with the title before, performing the second opening theme for 2021 Shaman King, as well as voice acting Tamao Tamamura. She will play Tamao in Shaman King: Flowers as well.
The crew of Shaman King: Flowers got a lot of voice actors to play their characters once again, including those who voiced Anna, Amidamaru and Hao. Yoko Hikasa will be playing both Yoh himself as he did in the 2021 adaptation and the main character of Shaman King: Flowers, Yoh’s son Hana.
Despite fans having their concerns due to the lackluster performance of the 2021 anime, the PV was met well. Fans enjoyed the animation and music, and they have high hopes for Shaman King: Flowers.
