While the games have their own protagonists, the anime’s main character is Musashi Miyamoto, who is actually a historical figure, born circa 1584. He is best known as a remarkable swordsman who created his own style of fighting, as well as for writing two books. It is him who will be fighting demons in the upcoming anime, which is to be released on November 2, 2023.

However, Oni do not have to be evil, and it seems likely that the gauntlet wants the main character to become a type of supernatural, different from Genma.
