Metallic Rouge is meant to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the anime studio Bones. It is an original anime that will air on January 11, 2024. The premise is that an android girl Rouge together with her partner Naomi are given a mission to destroy hostile artificial humans on Mars.

We have a lot of questions, of course. Who are artificial humans and how are they different from androids? Are androids fully mechanical, and if so, why does Rouge eat chocolate? Can she enjoy that chocolate? And what is the relationship between Rouge and Naomi? That last question is a big one, and a lot of fans are impatient to learn more. Fortunately, January 11 is coming soon, and with it, all our questions will hopefully be answered.

Promotional Materials and Fan Reaction

A new PV and a key visual have been posted recently for Metallic Rouge. The visual looks quite peaceful, and only the ghost of a pink mecha reminds us that the anime is a sci-fi action. Fans love the design of the mecha, by the way, and so do we. From the PV, it appears that the mecha might be Rouge when she transforms, but we cannot be sure for now.

The PV promises a lot of action, and, unfortunately, the music is much less epic than Crimson Lightning, which was released for Metallic Rouge a while back. But still, the PV lets us learn more about the soundtrack, and the visuals are epic enough, with fights and explosions for us to enjoy.

The relationship between Rouge and Naomi intrigues fans. They wonder if it is a story of friendship or more, and some doubt the relationship is going to be focused on at all. But most fans still hope for some heartfelt moments among all the action.

Fans believe that Bones making an original anime is not new but always exciting. The previous original anime by Bones that fans remember only good things about was titled Space Dandy, and it has a score of 7.88 on MyAnimeList. Fans trust Bones to make good original content. Let’s hope that they are right.
