The adventure of Ai's children and their friends continues.
On July 3, the second season of Oshi no Ko began, a series dedicated to the lives of Japanese actors and idols. The first season consists of eleven episodes (the first one is one hour long), and the script is based on a manga by Aka Akasaka.
The title shows how the Japanese show business lives: the idol industry, cinema, television, music and even the Internet. The subject matter of the project is diverse and, most importantly, we have not seen many such projects before.
What Happened in the Season 1 Finale?
The final episode of the first season marks the debut of the second lineup of B-Komachi, the group that made Ai famous. The group now consists of Ruby, Mem-cho and Kana. Their performance is a success, and the girls even gain fans.
Kana and Aqua's relationship improves, although the girl is jealous of the young man because of his partner in the dating show, Akane Kurokawa. The love triangle will continue in the second season, as all three have been approved for roles in the production of a popular manga.
Season 2 Focuses on the Theater Production
The new episodes of the second season completely cover the 2.5D Stage Play arc of the manga. At the moment, nine episodes (out of the planned 13) have been released, the last four of which show the production itself and the characters' feelings during it.
The second season is not as colorful as the first, as most of the episodes take place behind the scenes and in the rehearsal halls of the theater. But this brings the viewer closer to the inner world of all the characters, who are very well revealed and shown from different sides.
After the premiere of the production, the anime becomes more bright – the scenery changes, the dynamics of the story increases.
Despite the fact that the main storyline of revenge for Ai's death moves very slowly, the series is still captivating. Actresses Akane and Kana have been competing for roles since they were children, and now they are also fighting for the heart of the distant Aqua, which adds a dynamic to the project.
Where to Watch Season 2 & Is It Good?
The second season of Star Child definitely deserves attention – it reveals the storylines started in the first season and develops the arcs of all the characters, both main and secondary.
Both seasons of the anime are available on Prime Video.
