From the very first episode, the plot of Oshi No Ko has a lot of surprises. You don't find twists like that very often! At first glance, Oshi No Ko is a story about idols and the entertainment industry in Japan. That's partly true, but it's not about the cheerful girls who give their best on stage and win the love of their fans. It's a story about the dark side of show business, where there are crazy fans, stalkers, and cyberbullying.

The main characters of this anime aren't pretty idols either, but an adult doctor and a sick girl who were reborn after their deaths as the children of the popular idol Ai Hoshino. Aqua and Ruby's new life was wonderful: they could use all the opportunities they didn't have before. But the heroes' lives are turned upside down again when their mother is killed by a stalker.

The children grow up. Ruby wants to become a popular idol like her mother, and Aqua burns with the desire to find the man responsible for Ai's death. In the first season, they did not achieve their goals. Ruby has just begun her career. Aqua has immersed in the world of show business, but hasn't yet found the answers to his questions.

What to expect?

The first season covered the events of 40 chapters and ended with Ruby's first appearance on the big stage. The series doesn't differ much from the manga, which means that we will see events from the 2.5D Stage Play Arc in the second season. This is also hinted at by a recently released poster showing the protagonists of this arc (Akane, Aqua and Kana) and the end of the first season, in which Aqua was asked to participate in the stage play.

Oshi No Ko is already one of the most anticipated new releases for next year. And while some fans are excited about Akane's new look, others are worried if they will see Ruby this season. Of course, Ruby is not the main character of the 2.5D Stage Play Arc. The events here will mainly revolve around Aqua, Akane and Kana. But this part of the story only covers 26 chapters, and there's a good chance that the second season won't be all about it. Meanwhile, the next Private Arc tells a lot about Ruby.
