Oshi no Ko Voice Actors Reveal New Information About the Anime

Sadly, we still don’t have much information on S2.

Spoilers for Episode 1 ahead!

Summary:

  • IGN Fan Fest 2024 featured an interview with the seiyuu of Aqua, Ruby and Kana from Oshi no Ko.
  • The voice actors talked about their experience with the anime, including the way it was recorded.
  • We didn’t get much information about S2, but fans speculate that it will air this Fall.

IGN Fan Fest 2024 is a two-day event hosted by IGN, focusing on games, anime and other media. It features a lot of live streams and meetings with famous guests. In this year’s installment of it, multiple members of the Oshi no Ko cast were invited, and they revealed some interesting insights that give us more information about the production of the anime.

The event features multiple seiyuu from Oshi no Ko

The invited guests include Takeo Ootsuka (Aqua), Yurie Igoma (Ruby), and Megumi Han (Kana). They shared that they had read the manga prior to working on the anime — so they expected Ai dying very early into the series — but the scene was still quite shocking. The way the anime framed it and the music, according to them, made it even more impactful.

They also all mentioned that while the work is obviously fictional and dramatized, the way the industry is shown actually feels real. That might be explained by the connections of the authors and how much research they’ve done for the manga.

The video includes many topics, and some of the most interesting include the way the voice actors played their roles. They actually recorded a lot of their lines together, which is seen as a good thing — often, voice actors record their parts separately due to conflicting schedules.

Besides, they shared their thoughts on how it felt to play their characters, and how they were supposed to interact with each other.

Information on S2

The voice actors also reveal some new information about S2 of the anime — however, it is pretty sparse. Unfortunately for the fans, it seems that the second season isn’t coming that soon — and, since it’s announced for 2024, Fall is the most likely season for it to air in.

The reason for this speculation is simple: the voice actors mention wondering where the second season will stop (essentially referring to how much of the manga it is going to adapt).

While voice acting is one of the last things to be done while producing anime, this indicates that they probably don’t even have the slightest idea of the pacing of the anime yet — especially considering that earlier in the video, they mentioned that the recording started long before the anime was actually broadcast.

That said, the voice actors are as excited for the second season of the anime as the fans are — and, to be fair, they are also fans. Megumi Han wonders how the adapted scenes will look in the anime, and Yurie Igoma is also excited to see it — she mentions that the anime can fill in the gaps between scenes in many different ways

Sadly, we still don’t have much information on S2.
