Domain Expansion is a special ability that’s considered to be the greatest and most advanced sorcery technique in Jujutsu Kaisen. Within a domain expansion, the user's powers are increased, and any hit is guaranteed.
But this is not the only awesome thing about them. Domain Expansions are also visually exciting, and here’s a small list of fan favorite ones for you.
4. Megumi
Chimera Shadow Garden is Megumi's domain expansion. He uses the Ten Shadows Technique for his expansion, and it floods the area with thick fluid shadows. It allows the user to reveal multiple shikigami and manipulate all the available shadows. Remember all those creepy shadow frogs trying to climb the curse? A good way to distract your opponent.
3. Mahito
Mahito's domain expansion is called Self-Embodiment of Perfection, and it allows him to transfigure the souls of his targets without requiring physical contact, thus increasing the effectiveness of the Idle Transfiguration cursed technique. Let’s go back in time and revise Mahito’s fight with Yuji and Nanami. The sorcerers are fierce; it feels like Mahito is almost defeated, he thinks about death and then…he opens his mouth, there are hands inside of it! Followed by more hands here and there. Sounds like a scene from a horror movie or a boss-battle from one of the Resident Evil games.
2. Gojo
Infinite (or Unlimited) Void is the name of Gojo’s domain expansion. This technique brings the user’s targets inside a vast void of infinite knowledge. Immense amount of information floods into the target’s mind and overwhelms them to no end. They can't move or fight, they’re completely immobilized. The first time we see him use this technique was back in the first cour of Season 1, and the moment was extremely exciting since we finally saw Gojo’s eyes as he removed his blindfold.
1. Sukuna
Malevolent Kitche… uh, we mean Shrine. Yes, Malevolent Shrine! Just like its name suggests, it creates an environment centered around a small shrine. Dark waters and red clouds surround the shrine, where Sukuna himself sits. Fans say that the name itself sounds like “something a deathcore musician came up with”. The first time Sukuna used his domain expansion was puzzling since we didn’t really know what was up with this technique, but how cool was it?
Pinnacle of jujutsu sorcery.
