Ep.7 shows an epic fight between Ragna and Ultimatia, Ultimatia using her most overpowered ability, and Ragna resisting her powers.
Fans love watching Ultimatia suffer, so they love Ep.7.
Fans admit that there are some clichés in Ep.7, but it doesn’t take away from their enjoyment.
Ultimatia
Ultimatia receives a lot of hate from Ragna Crimson fans. It makes sense given her belief in destroying people “peacefully.” As a result, Ultimatia’s suffering makes Episode 7 very satisfying for a lot of fans.
Indeed, aside from nearly killing Ultimatia, Ragna also manages to use his future powers to move while Ultimatia stopped time. It was understandable on the fan’s side since future Ragna was given Ultimatia’s blood and was, therefore, an exception to her time-stopping ability.
However, Ultimatia did not know that! Ragna just ignoring her power made her panic. In fact, many fans claim that she is traumatized since she believed in her powers and had no reason to assume that Ragna would be able to resist them. Ultimatia's suffering alone made this episode a fan favorite.
Other Bonuses
There were other elements that fans loved. Crimson freaking out, but then quickly arranging supporting forces for Ragna was cool. And Slime just swallowing Nebulim looked funny to a lot of fans. Ragna being overpowered to match Ultimatia’s overpowered abilities felt satisfying. Overall, fans found most elements of this episode either amusing or entertaining.
Issues With the Episode
It doesn’t mean that there were zero issues with the episode. One of the most obvious problems is that the anime has some clichés. The worst of them happens by the very end, when Ragna's powers suddenly just give out inches away from Ultimatia, and Ragna stops and falls, unable to fight. This moment was not appreciated by the majority of fans.
Fans still have hope for this fight, given that Ragna is joined by Crimson. However, most likely, Ragna won’t be able to fight for a while, and Crimson is more of a strategist than a fighter. You could argue that the episode leaves us with a cliffhanger, which is also cliché, but fans still get to enjoy Ultimatia being too traumatized to attack Ranga at the very end. And that is fun.
Fans enjoy Ultimatia suffering a little too much not to love Episode 7 of Ragna Crimson!
