TMS Entertainment's adaptation returns in January 2027. Fans got a first teaser back at Annecy in June; the Anime NYC drop was a character trailer, formally introducing three figures from the manga now making it to screen.

  • Amane Yotsumura — a 14-year-old JCC student
  • Etsuko Satoda — an exceedingly polite retired assassin, now teaching at JCC
  • Satoru Yotsumura — Amane's father, and a founding member of the Order

New key art featuring Sakamoto and Shin came with it, and the show's official account put out an alternate poster the same night.

If you skipped season one: Taro Sakamoto was the most feared hitman alive, fell in love with a woman who worked at a convenience store, retired, married her, gained a substantial amount of weight, and now runs the shop. The industry does not consider retirement a valid category. The comedy comes from a man who cannot stop being lethal while also refusing to break anything in his own store or frighten his daughter.

The action animation in the first season was the argument for the whole adaptation. The character trailer suggests season two intends to keep making it.

Yuto Suzuki's manga has been running in Weekly Shonen Jump since 2020 and the source material gets meaningfully darker in the stretch this season is drawing from — so the tonal balancing act is about to get harder.
