Short Anime: When You Only Have a Couple Hours

Short Anime: When You Only Have a Couple Hours

It is a lot of fun to follow a long-running anime, but sometimes you want just a few short episodes. This is a tiny list of tiny anime for you to enjoy.

We all know the excitement of waiting for the next episode to air, but binging an anime in one night is not unheard of, either. Sometimes, though, you do not need a whole night to binge an anime. In fact, a couple hours could be enough for any of the anime on this list.

Tonari no Seki-kun: The Master of Killing Time

Tonari no Seki-kun: The Master of Killing Time has 21 episodes, and each of them is about 7 minutes long, which makes it quite short. It is a comedy about a girl trying to study and a boy trying to kill time during lessons. The boy constantly gets the girl distracted, too, and she gets in trouble. Kill some time watching the two's shenanigans; you will not need more than a couple hours.

I Can't Understand What My Husband Is Saying

I Can't Understand What My Husband Is Saying has two seasons, but each episode is no longer than three minutes, so you can binge-watch it in a few hours. It is a romantic comedy centering around a family of an otaku and an office worker who has barely ever seen anime. The office worker, who happens to be the wife, is shown struggling to understand her husband, but love helps them overcome their differences and the occasional conflicts.

Plastic Neesan

Plastic Neesan is about a school club for building different plastic models. The three main characters, including the troublemaker nicknamed Plastic Neesan, learn a lot about friendship while getting in all sorts of trouble and being constantly distracted from their duties as club members. There are a total of 12 episodes, each lasting about two minutes, which makes the anime very, very short.

Pet Shop of Horrors

While the rest of the anime achieved their status as a short watch by having a dozen or two short episodes, this anime goes the other route. Each of the four episodes is 23 minutes or so, for a total runtime of barely over 90 minutes. Unfortunately, this is the case because not all of the manga was adapted, even though the main features are present.

They include, for example, horror, people who cannot read contracts, and sexual tension between the main characters.

Despite that, if you stop at the anime, the mysterious identity of Count D will forever be a secret to you. But you can still have a good time watching people being punished for breaking their contracts with Count D for the next few hours.

These examples are fairly hard to come by, but short anime do exist. As we can see from this list, the short format can easily accommodate comedy and romantic comedy, while the horror genre did not manage to fit into a couple minutes per episode. In any case, we hope you remember this list next time you have two hours to kill.
