Spy x Family: Everything You Need To Know Before Season 2

Season 2 will air on October 7th so let's remember why we love the series and discuss some expectations for the sequel.

Spy x Family is a story about an intelligence agent, Loid Forger, who's playing the game of pretend for his mission. In order to get to his target he has to hire someone to play his wife and daughter. From now on Yor, a skillful assassin, is going to be his wife, and charming little Anya, who has the ability to read people's minds, is going to take the place of his daughter.

This anime does an incredible job of combining an intelligence agency story with lighthearted humor and exploring the family bonds. Charismatic characters and their great chemistry is what we love so much about the series, and what makes this fake family feel just so real. And just look at the cute little Anya! She alone is a good enough reason to fall in love with the show.

Fans seem quite excited for the sequel because all their favs are coming back, and it's just awesome! Manga readers promise us more attention to Yor and some solid character development as it looks like the cruise ship arc is going to get animated.

Season 2 also seems like a pleasant surprise since fans are used to waiting for sequels for a long time (even years sometimes). They say we can thank the series' popularity for that as well as two studios working on the anime. Still, some fans are questioning the quality and mention "capitalizing on the fame" but we're not going to jump to conclusions and will just wait for the season to come out before saying anything.

Fans also discuss whether the show is going to be a single cour (i.e. have about 12 episodes) one or not.

Most agree that making it a single cour season would be the right thing to do since the adaptation doesn't want to catch up with the manga, and releasing more episodes now will leave the anime only 10 something chapters behind the current manga events.

The thing that the fans are most excited about is, of course… Anya! She's the driving force of the series and is so sweet that you won't be able to even think of candies for a long time after watching the show. Anya provides all the sweetness you need in your life.

If you're looking for something to watch this fall and haven't seen Spy x Family, now is your chance to do it. Season 2 is less than a month away, and we're hyped to see it.
