If you’re one of those who’re also quite tired of countless superhero movies, but are a fan of comics and not ready to forget about these fascinating universes, the world of anime might be just the thing you’re looking for. The new Suicide Squad ISEKAI series will bring your favorite DC villains back, and give you one more chance to experience their madness.
Suicide Squad ISEKAI is an upcoming anime series that’s based on the DC comics and their antihero/supervillain team, known as Suicide Squad. There are various iterations of the team, and it feels like the anime version will mainly focus on Harley, and let’s be honest, there can never be a show about Harley without Joker, and the trailers prove that!
New trailer and key visual
The new trailer gives us more ideas of what to expect from the series. First of all, awesome visuals, as we may see! The character design looks highly appealing, and Harley is just as crazy and beautiful as ever. Is Margot Robbie about to have competition?
The trailer does everything right, if we’re talking about conveying the Suicide Squad vibe. Insanity, weird humor, fitting soundtrack — everything looks quite promising, and we can’t wait to see the final project. And it’s fantastic to know that waiting will not be long. The trailer ends with the exciting “mission begins 2024”. There’s no particular release date for now, but it’s good to know that it’s not 2025, at least.
The new key visual answers the question about the team: the picture portrays Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Peacemaker, Clayface, and King Shark. We don’t know what role Joker is going to play in the series, but there’s hope that it will be a big one. After all, he’s super excited about going to another world in the trailer.
The trailer also introduces the team working on the project, and we can see a lot of familiar faces among them. Eri Osada (Jujutsu Kaisen) has taken the role of the director, screenplay is by Tappei Nagatsuki and Eiji Umehara (Re:Zero), and Akira Amano (Psycho-Pass) is working on character design. WIT studio is animating Suicide Squad, and it makes us even more excited about the project.
The only thing fans are not so sure of, though, is the isekai genre of the anime. They don’t really understand if this is a good idea for such a series as Suicide Squad, but they’re ready to give it the benefit of the doubt and wait for the series to air before judging.
