Summary
Right after Mia’s diary disappears, viewers are shown a group of men conspiring against Mia.
They have a lot of knowledge about the reasons the Empire could experience a revolution.
They may have special abilities or knowledge similar to Mia's knowledge of the future from her diary.
Is that a hint that there are more people sent back in time?
The Conspiracy
In Episode 8, Mia finally solves her problems and prevents the revolution in her Empire while saving herself from the guillotine. However, we are shown some men in hoods conspiring against Mia and lamenting the fact that the Tearmoon Empire seems to be doing great. While it is easy to just assume that they are looking to cause trouble for some mundane reasons — after all, war profiteers are a thing — it is worth analyzing their words.
The fact that the Empire is doing better can be seen without special abilities. Similarly, there are ways to find out if Mia and Sion have a good relationship. But one of the men claimed that he thought that the famine would “solve the issue,” and that sounds suspicious. How did this man know about a famine that, according to Mia, was supposed to happen in the future?
Our Theory
We have a theory that these four men have access to either special knowledge of the future or, possibly, some other special abilities. It is possible that they were thrown back in time just like Mia, and for some reason, they seek to destroy Mia along with the Tearmoon Empire.
If Mia was not the only one thrown back in time, we can expect her to meet other people who know more than they should. And now that Mia does not have a cheat sheet with all the information about the future, such encounters might be dangerous to her.
We can hope that, if needed, Mia’s diary shows up again. In the meantime, we will be looking forward to learning more about other accidental time travelers. Or, perhaps, not so accidental?
