Vampires, androids, and... beta testers.

Traditionally, the summer anime season hasn't been rich in hits this year. However, we managed to find some worthy titles that aren't part of big franchises and aren't direct sequels to other projects.

1. Delico's Nursery, 2024-...

A world reminiscent of 18th century Europe is ruled by aristocratic clans of vampires. They are more like dhampirs, similar to humans – they live long, but are not immortal; they are strong, but not too much; they do not drink blood, and are not afraid of the sun.

However, there is a legend about the first vampire, the progenitor of all others. He is called the True Vampire. One day, a series of vampire murders occur in the capital, and the criminals leave cards saying they are looking for the True Vampire. Now, Dali Delico must stop the killers.

2. Why Does Nobody Remember Me in This World?, 2024

In the great war of the five races, humans defeated fantasy creatures – this happened 100 years ago. Kai, a soldier, dreams about the great past and one day is transported to an alternate world where humans lost the war.

And now it is Kai who must play the role of the savior of humanity, Sid, who defeated monsters in the past. He will be helped by the mysterious girl Rinne, whom Kai rescued from captivity.

3. The Elusive Samurai, 2024-...

In 1333, the Kamakura Shogunate fell as a result of a terrible betrayal – and the ruling Hojo clan was destroyed. Only the shogun's heir, the young Tokiyuki, survived and was helped to escape by the priest. And now Tokiyuki, who has incredible skills in hiding and evading enemies, must become strong to take revenge and win.

The Elusive Samurai is a title based on the real history of the Japanese Middle Ages and at the same time a shonen about the inner growth of a young hero. And fantasy elements give hope for a happy ending – Tokiyuki was never able to take revenge in real life.

4. Quality Assurance in Another World, 2024-...

Haga becomes a beta tester for the world's first fully immersive VR video game, King's Seeker. But it turns out the whole game is a complete failure: due to a massive glitch, the testers can't log out and are stuck in the virtual world for an entire year. Many of them go crazy, and now Haga must fix everything.

This anime is mainly intended for experienced computer geeks. This is facilitated by the abundance of gaming slang and situations typical for games with glitches.

5. ATRI: My Dear Moments, 2024

In the near future, a large part of the earth is covered with water. Natsuki Ikaruga, a young man who lost his leg in the disaster, lives in the remains of a small town on the island and is in desperate need of money for a more advanced prosthesis.

In the flooded house of his deceased grandmother, Natsuki finds a high-quality android in the form of a girl named Atri, whom he initially wants to sell. But Atri looks too much like a real person.

A humanoid robot, cute everyday life with a comedic twist, emotional experiences, and all this in a cozy post-apocalyptic setting with spectacular seascapes and beautiful graphics.
