The Yuzuki Family's Four Sons: Will Hayato Ever Learn to Ask for Help?

Hayato of the Yuzuki Family tries to be perfect at everything, but that, unfortunately, means that he is bad at one specific thing, and that is asking for help.

The Yuzuki Family's Four Sons spoilers ahead!

Summary

  • The relatives of the Yuzuki sons had wanted to take away at least the youngest of the children, but Hayato never let them.
  • Hayato has a perfectionist idea of family, and he wants his brothers to have the best of care.
  • His brothers are still making Hayato accept help, which is why, hopefully, he will eventually be able to ask for it.

The Yuzuki Family's Four Sons (Yuzuki-san Chi no Yon Kyōdai) is an ongoing anime with some very sweet characters. It is a comfy, kind slice-of-life that is dedicated to a family of four sons learning to live without their parents, who unfortunately passed away. Hayato is the oldest, and he struggles the most, while his siblings wonder, will he ever learn to ask for help?

Hayato’s Idea of Family

The extended family understood what it meant to suddenly have to care for three children while also dealing with studies, so they tried to convince Hayato to let the younger sons live with them. However, Hayato felt like he could take care of the Yuzuki sons, ensuring that all of them stayed together.

Considering how strongly the extended family pushed for taking at least one brother away from Hayato, Hayato’s biggest fear seems to be that he should have let them do that. He is afraid of not being enough, of not giving the children he is now in charge of a good, fulfilling childhood.

Hayato’s idea of a family is very perfectionist; he wants his brothers to have everything they need, because if they do need something he cannot provide, that would make the extended family right, and Hayato would be responsible for his brothers not receiving only the best.

Hope for Hayato

However, Hayato is not the only one who loves and cares for his brothers. The rest of the Yuzuki sons also understand that Hayato is too focused on delivering the best of care to them, so they try to help.

Mikoto has been helping around the house, and Minato eventually managed to convince Hayato to let him try to do that, too. Even Gakuto feels like he could have helped, but he is considered too little, so at the very least, he made sure that he has a person to look after him when Hayato is busy, and that is the neighbor Kojirō Kirishima.

Hayato is still bad at asking for help, but his siblings are wearing him down, and maybe with time, Hayato will get better at seeking out help.
