Top 10 Creepiest My Hero Academia Villains, Ranked

Some of these only get worse the more you think about them.

My Hero Academia (Boku no Hero Academia) is full of unique characters possessing various Quirks. It seems that Horikoshi’s imagination when it comes to those has no bounds. Some characters are cool, some are just weird — and some, mostly the villains, are outright creepy.

Let’s take a look at ten creepiest villains in the series, then — you definitely won’t want to meet any of them in real life.

10. Dictator

Many people probably don’t even remember who Dictator was — the character hardly had any appearance in the anime or manga. He was a one-off villain that was quickly defeated by Class 1-A in the Dark Hero arc.

Still, his Quirk is very unsettling, and his appearance doesn’t help. He’s able to manipulate people using invisible strings that come from his body — essentially giving him a whole army that can be both mindless warriors or human shields.

9. Mr. Compress

 - image 2

The enigmatic Mr. Compress is often considered among the more reasonable ones among the MHA villains. Well, he’s certainly not insane — unlike many others on the list — but his lack of concern over losing his body parts is unsettling. His Quirk is terrifying, too, locking people in small marbles.

8. Stain

 - image 3

The infamous Hero Killer, Stain has one of the most noble motivations in the series (as noble as a villain’s motivation might be). He heavily dislikes the corrupt society, and he feels that heroes only want money, power and fame, forgetting their true nature.

Because of that, he uses his Quirk — which can paralyze anyone whose blood Stain ingests — to kill dozens of Pro Heroes. His appearance, especially his lack of a nose, is what makes him truly frightening — you won’t want to meet him on the streets.

7. Soramitsu Tabe

 - image 4

Another villain who barely had any screen time, Soramitsu Tabe doesn’t even have his own villain name. It’s hard to forget him because of that. Still, he’s one of the Eight Bullets of Shie Hassaikai, and arguably the most insane one, too, always talking about food.

A slim man with a bag over his head, he possesses a terrifying Quirk that lets him chew and digest anything. Still, he retains at least some sanity and values his friends.

6. Doctor

 - image 5

Despite looking like an old man, Kyudai Garaki — or simply Doctor — is perhaps one of the most terrifying characters in the series. He’s way over a hundred years old, possessing a Quirk that allows him to live twice as long as normal humans. He’s also the only person All For One truly considers a friend.

Funnily enough, he was one of the first characters introduced in the series, diagnosing Deku as Quirkless. It makes the whole situation even creepier, as he keeps his kind outward façade — in reality, Garaki is a crazy man who is behind the creation of Nomus.

5. Overhaul

 - image 6

A former Yakuza boss (thankfully, he was arrested — but escaped later), Overhaul is a major antagonist who is obsessed with freeing the society from Quirks.

He’s a deeply troubled man, and while he’s less evil than characters like Shigaraki and All For One, he’s still a major threat to society. His Quirk allows him to disassemble anything he touches, and you wouldn’t want to be a victim of it.

4. Toga

 - image 7

While she’s undoubtedly cute, that doesn’t make Himiko Toga any less creepy. In fact, it makes her even more creepy, because she’s practically insane. She doesn’t see anything wrong with killing people.

Her concept of “love” is extremely twisted — in her first meeting with Uraraka, she told her about how she’d want to become someone she’s in love with. And, of course, her Quirk allows her to take someone’s appearance after taking some of their blood.

3. All For One

 - image 8

The main “evil mastermind” of the series, All For One is a villainous old man obsessed with gaining more and more power in order to rule the world. He’s able to steal others’ Quirks, too, and his calm behavior only makes him more intimidating.

He founded the League of Villains, turned Shigaraki into who he is by raising him as his successor, and was the major antagonist for a major part of the series.

2. Shigaraki

 - image 9

Tomura Shigaraki himself is not much better than All For One — granted, he was largely brainwashed by him as a child, but that doesn’t make him any less creepy. His very first meeting with Deku is bone-chilling, too.

Overall, Shigaraki is like a more insane (and creepier) version of AFO — with another terrifying Quirk that makes everything rot and decay on touch.

1. Moonfish

 - image 10

Of all the MHA villains, Moonfish is by far the creepiest one. He’s almost like a horror movie character who somehow ended up in a battle shounen series, and it really shows. In his very first appearance, he works with the Vanguard Action Squad, though he doesn’t seem to be sharing any motivation with them.

Moonfish is absolutely insane, always talking about flesh in barely coherent sentences. He struggles to concentrate on the mission, too. He’s implied to be a cannibal, he is the only villain so far who was explicitly said to be awaiting execution, and his comrades didn’t even bother freeing him from a straitjacket. Doesn’t seem to bother him much, though, because his Quirk lets him manipulate his teeth. Ugh.
