Spy x Family has finished airing the first arc of the season 2 and now advertises the second part with the release of the PV highlighting the Cruise Ship Arc.
This arc is the tenth arc of the story, if you look at the manga, and takes 15 chapters. It's centered around Yor Forger — Thorn Princess — getting an assignment of protecting Olka Gretcher and her son aboard cruise ship Princess Lorelei from a group of assassins. What should've been a simple job, however, is tainted by Loid and Anya also boarding the ship.
Family saves the world together, even if they don't know about it
The Gretcher mob family managed the Ostania underworld before, but during the internal dispute the head of the family and his son died, and Olka, his daughter, and her son ended up being the only survivors. Naturally, they are targeted as the new leader of the organization has put a huge bounty on their heads, and Yor's mission is to protect them on their way to asylum in a foreign country. She is disguised as a regular passenger on a cruise ship, so Yor's also embarking on the ship to assist her and ensure her safety disguising it as a business trip.
Loid and Anya, however, stumble upon a raffle in the mall with the grand prize of a three-day, two-night tour on the Princess Lorelei cruise, and Anya takes the winning tickets. So the family ends up on the ship together.
We love sentimental Yor and we'll get more of her
The adventure makes Yor question her job and her relationship with her makeshift family, while Loid mostly takes on a babysitting role, casually dealing with some conspiracies in the process. This arc is important as it introduces some characters that will reappear in the story and reestablishes power balance in the lore of Spy x Family, but also offers an interesting insight into the dynamics of the Forger family, creating both embarrassingly cute and entertainingly violent moments.
The arc will start airing on November 4th, and some viewers said that they will use the show to cleanse their palates after watching the finale of Attack on Titan, which will also premiere on that day.
