10 Anime Characters That Are Very Good at Motivating You

When you need someone to look up to.

What could be better than when an anime not only entertains you, but also teaches you something and makes you want to get up and be better?

Okay, there’s probably something, but today we’re not going to talk about that. Instead, let’s remember some anime characters that are good at being inspirational.

  1. Tanjiro — Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba)

 - image 1

Tanjiro is an incredible example of someone who never gives up. He loves his family and knows what he’s fighting for. He may fail, get hurt and injured, heartbroken, but he always gets up and keeps fighting.

Tanjiro also teaches us to never give up on those we love. If he was able to fight for Nezuko even after she became a demon, you’re capable of overcoming a couple of obstacles on your way, too.

  1. Luffy — One Piece

 - image 2

His unwavering belief in himself and his teammates is already enough to motivate you. Luffy’s determination is unmatched, and you can’t help but want to be just like him.

It doesn’t matter where Luffy was at the beginning of the story, he managed to survive, make friends, move on and do great things. His ambitions are also something to envy and look up to. Luffy is the kind of person who can change the world, and we all want to be that kind of person.

  1. Eren — Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin)

 - image 3

The fact that “Fight” has become Eren’s catchphrase says it all. But fighting is not the only thing he’s good at. Eren’s desire to keep moving forward and his unwillingness to give up no matter what is something to admire.

He’s a great learner, too, and a fast one at that. If Eren is capable of learning how to control his titan abilities in such a short time, you’re definitely able to take up another hobby or school subject.

  1. Thorfinn — Vinland Saga

 - image 4

Thorfinn’s character development is on another level. He turned from a vengeful boy to a mature man who sees the world in a completely different way.

It’s impossible to follow Thorfinn for two seasons and learn nothing. His quote that he has no enemies alone is something to think about. Thorfinn will definitely motivate you to look at people and society differently and understand a few things about yourself.

  1. Maomao — The Apothecary Diaries (Kusuriya no Hitorigoto)

 - image 5

Maomao’s experience, wit and thirst for knowledge are the things that make her stand out. You can’t just watch her work her magic and not want to be just a little bit like her.

If you didn’t want to be a doctor or a chemist before, there’s definitely part of you that does now. Just to be as smart as Maomao! She’s also really good at learning how to survive, and it’s nothing but admirable.

  1. Stark — Frieren: Beyond Journey's End (Sousou no Frieren)

 - image 6

Although Stark is somewhat of a coward and is scared of monsters, he keeps fighting to protect those he loves. He’s afraid, yes, but when necessary, he collects himself and gets the job done.

Stark can teach you that no matter how seemingly weak and frightened you are, you just need a little faith and help to become great. Add a bit of determination, and there’s nothing you can’t do!

  1. Todo — Jujutsu Kaisen

 - image 7

Despite being a gag of the series for a lot of times, Todo is actually a very inspirational character as well. He showed an intelligent and even philosophical side of himself while helping Yuji fight a Curse.

When you look at him, you feel like he’s unbeatable and invincible, and you can’t help but strive to be like him. Todo’s physique is also very motivational, as even glancing at him makes you want to join the nearest gym and spend multiple hours trying to build all those muscles.

  1. Hyakkimaru — Dororo

 - image 8

Hyakkimaru was born without various body parts and even his skin, and yet he not only survives but has it in himself to keep fighting and defeating all the demons that took his body.

We have no idea how he was able to be so determined and strong, but watching Hyakkimaru’s story makes all of our problems seem easily solved. If he doesn’t even need his limbs to be a badass fighter, then you can also do anything!

  1. Rishe — 7th Time Loop (Loop 7-kaime)

 - image 9

Of course, Rishe has an unfair advantage because she’s already living her 7th life and she had 6 of them to make all the possible mistakes. But she’s still nothing if not inspiring. Just try to be like her in your first life because we’re not sure if you’ll get reborn, too.

Rishe is everything we’d like to be: smart, strong, interesting, skilled, determined, insightful and hungry for knowledge. We know it will be difficult to be like her without her experiences, but she’s the one who makes you want to try.

  1. Yuki — A Sign of Affection (Yubisaki to Renren)

 - image 10

Yuki is a hearing-impaired girl, and yet she doesn’t let it interfere with her life. She’s a very happy, cheerful and charming girl who just wants to live her life like other people. Yuki doesn’t let her disability get in her way and manages to enjoy her life no matter what.

Yuki shows that not being able to hear is not something that can put an end to your life, it is just something you have to deal with and keep moving forward. If she can do it, so can you!
