1. Blue Exorcist, 2011
This is a story about two twin brothers who became a link between worlds. The first, Yukio, is responsible, reliable and smart, while the second, Rin, is carefree, hot-tempered and daring. It was this brother who was born with demonic powers, which he did not suspect for fifteen years.
When Rin learned of his true nature and how exactly he was connected to the demon world, he vowed to destroy the Lord of Gehenna and put an end to evil forever.
2. Noragami, 2014-2015
The anime introduces the viewer to a simple Japanese schoolgirl named Hiyori Iki, who one day sacrifices herself to save a young man she does not know. He turns out to be the god of war Yato, who tells the girl that after the accident, her soul gained the ability to leave her body.
In this state, Hiyori is vulnerable to demons, but now she has the ability to travel through the city as a ghost. This allows her to expand the boundaries of her world and meet gods and otherworldly creatures that ordinary people cannot see.
3. Sengoku Youko, 2024
The story introduces the viewer to a young samurai named Shinsuke, who meets two unusual girls along the way, one of whom is half-fox.
They travel the world in search of criminals and villains to put an end to robbery and banditry. The samurai is filled with sympathy for the right cause and decides to join the brave girls.
The series boasts colorful characters and an exciting plot, the drama and action of which are revealed closer to the middle of the season. Like Demon Slayer, the series features spectacular fights interspersed with more mundane and comedic scenes.
4. Hell's Paradise, 2023-...
A skilled ninja and assassin named Gabimaru, like other condemned prisoners, goes to an ominous island to find the elixir of immortality. This is the only way he can avoid the death penalty.
But surviving in an unknown land inhabited by mythical creatures and powerful monsters turns out to be not so easy.
Like Demon Slayer, this series has many exciting battle scenes and interesting characters who risk their lives to draw their swords in battle. Characters with different views on life and concepts of justice unite against a common enemy.
5. Sirius the Jaeger, 2018
The story takes place in Tokyo in the first half of the 20th century. Vampire attacks have become more frequent in the city, and the police have asked for help from a special squad of hunters, the Jaegers.
The main character, Yuliy, is a werewolf and one of the warriors fighting the vampires. In the past, his home village was attacked by evil spirits, and now he wants to exterminate every single vampire.
Like the main character of Demon Slayer, Yuliy has painful memories of the past, in which a bloodthirsty monster killed the people close to him.
