5 Fan-Favorite Delicious in Dungeon Monsters That Amazed the Readers

How awesome are they?

Delicious in Dungeon (Dungeon Meshi) isn’t just famous for its well-crafted story and lovable characters, there’s also a fascinating yet terrifying world with hundreds of monsters.

So let’s remember the coolest of them and see why they’ve made such an impression on the manga readers.

  1. Dullahan

The first time a Dullahan appeared, readers were intimidated. A headless knight spirit that looks like a set of armor and brings death. It appeared so suddenly that it was unsettling. There’s something about monsters with no heads that is instinctively frightening, and Dullahans are sure good at scaring people.

  1. Falin (Chimera form)

Due to Marcille’s decision to resurrect Falin with the use of the Red Dragon’s flesh, the girl came back in an unusual form. She had huge white wings and the dragon’s red lower part.

Falin was absolutely terrifying in this form, and the fact that Laios’ party and the others had to fight her like that made the moment even more dramatic. The Chimera looked so outstanding that we’d want Falin to stay like that forever if we didn’t love her original self so much.

  1. Succubus

Succubi are fascinating creatures in almost all types of media, and Delicious in Dungeon is no exception. They’re especially dangerous because they can lure their victims by taking on the appearance of what they find appealing.

Succubi can bring immense pleasure to their victims but only to suck all the life out of them. It’s a very powerful and a very disturbing combination.

  1. Living Armor

Living Armor wasn’t that frightening, if we’re being honest, but fans still absolutely loved it due to how original the idea of this monster was.

At first sight, it’s just another Dullahan, but with a head: an empty armor set driven by magic. But in reality, Living Armors are multiple mollusks that only mimic armor. They gather together and attach to each other, which allows them to move as a united being.

Fans had never seen anything like it before, and were absolutely amazed by Living Armor. They got even more surprised when they found out Laios’ party could eat it.

  1. Dungeon Rabbit

There’s nothing scarier than a seemingly harmless creature that’s capable of killing you. There’s a reason why a lot of horrors feature small girls in white dresses that turn out to be demons or witches.

And the same goes for the Dungeon Rabbit. These creatures look adorable, but they have short blades coming out of their legs. The Rabbits also possess a good level of intelligence and they are capable of luring their victims away from safety to attack.
