Popular opinions are always nice, but what’s the fun in talking about something that most people agree with? Controversy is much more interesting, don’t you think? So let’s talk about some of the ideas that might leave you behind a closed door after the Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba) fans asked you to leave the room.
5. Akaza shouldn’t be hated for killing Rengoku
Fans are forcing us to write this, we swear. But jokes aside, Akaza is an incredible character and it’s no mistake that he’s always among the fan favorite demons (and characters) of the series. He had to kill Rengoku, because he was in his way, and this is what demons do after all. Moreover, Akaza respected the demon slayer when he learned how strong he was and even suggested Rengoku to become a demon, too.
4. Tanjiro is a better written character than you think
While looking like a typical shounen protagonist at first sight, Tanjiro is actually much more than that. He’s not just a hotheaded boy who rushes into the battle to protect everyone and everything. Tanjiro is incredibly caring and loving, he’s got the biggest heart in the series. Tanjiro even has it in himself to feel slight sympathy for the demons he has to kill. He never gives up and keeps fighting no matter what. And can we please talk about his all-consuming love for Nezuko and the way he cares about his sister?
3. Tengen is one of the strongest Hashira
“But he almost died!”. Yes, he did, and what? The battle with Gyutaro and Daki was one of the most intense ones in the series so far. And he did really well. Fans think that the reason why he is often ranked so low on various power lists is because Tengen never got a mark. And this is a mistake.
2. Douma deserves better treatment by the fandom
Yes, he’s a monster. Yes, he was a monster even before becoming a demon. Yes, he is a psychopath who’s void of emotions. But Douma never had a proper childhood and a caring atmosphere. It broke him from a very young age even when he was still human, and he deserves at least a little bit of sympathy.
1. Zenitsu is the most relatable Demon Slayer character
Wait, hear us out. We know there’s a high chance that you’re one of those who find him extremely irritating and he annoys the hell out of you. But imagine yourself being put into the same environment as him. Wouldn’t you be shaking from fear and screaming like a little kid every time you saw a demon? Moreover, these might be his flaws, but good characters always have them, because it gives the author space for future development. And Zenitsu IS going to have that. Besides, he is not THAT annoying, come on.
