They sure know how to introduce themselves.
Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin) has a lot of shocking and even horrifying moments. And it’s even scarier when they involve characters we’re just yet to learn about.
So let’s remember some of the best introduction sequences that made us shocked but completely fascinated by the series.
- Colossus Titan
Viewers didn’t really have to wait long for this moment. The series starts with a giant titan looking from behind a high wall. You just know there can’t be a positive outcome of this, something horrifying is about to happen. And it does.
The titan breaks the wall, causing complete chaos and serving the start of one of the greatest anime out there.
- Armored Titan
It’s already bad that the Colossus Titan has broken the wall and let Pure Titans into Shiganshina, but things are about to get even messier.
Reiner, aka Armored Titan, appears out of nowhere with the most epic soundtrack playing in the background. He crushes everything on his way and heads for the inner gate. True panic permeates the scene, the Garrison is trying to do something, but there’s nothing they can do.
- Sasha
“But there’s nothing shocking about her introduction,” you might say, and you have a point, but hear us out.
The first few episodes showed us how absolutely terrifying and depressing Attack on Titan is. They got you into a certain mood. And then you have Sasha. A girl that’s about to become one of the best running gags of the series, just trying to eat her potato in peace. It was shocking, but in the most hilarious way.
- Levi
From the very first moment Levi appeared in the series we knew that he was a big deal. He was introduced as a superhuman and started proving it from the first seconds he was on our screens.
He looked like some sort of superhero, and even though we didn’t really know him back then, we were ready to cheer him on.
- Female Titan
Annie was really one of the most frightening things in Season 1 of Attack on Titan. There wasn’t just one particular introduction scene with the Female Titan, there was a whole sequence.
Watching the Female Titan absolutely destroy so many members of the Survey Corps was shocking. Viewers were really anxious and eager to learn whether she would get captured.
- Beast Titan
Out of all the introductions in Attack on Titan, this must be the most horrifying one. We didn’t know who he was, we were shocked by the fact that he could speak, his scientific interest in the Survey Corps’ equipment was worrying.
Miche’s death by the hands of Pure Titans that the Beast Titan unleashed on him was truly one of the most frightening scenes in Attack on Titan.
