If you enjoy a good romance anime but haven’t seen 7th Time Loop yet, you’re doing something wrong. The series started airing a bit more than a week ago, but the first two episodes are extremely promising.
7th Time Loop: The Villainess Enjoys a Carefree Life Married to Her Worst Enemy follows Rishe, who has been reincarnated 6 times and is living her 7th life. Prince Arnold was her murderer in one of Rishe’s previous lives, but he intends to take on a different role this time: Episode 1 ends with him proposing to Rishe.
Despite the name of the anime spoiling us Rishe’s answer, the first minute of Episode 2 has something to surprise us: the woman rejects the proposal. However, Arnold is nothing if not stubborn. He manages to get Rishe to agree, and after discussing the rules of such an agreement, they continue their journey together.
Rishe is a great protagonist
Although the prince looks exactly like the type of character who would drive the fandom mad, he’s not the one fans are talking about. Despite Arnold’s handsomeness and enigmatic personality, Rishe is stealing the show.
It helps a lot that it’s her seventh life because all the experience she’s had before makes her look extremely wise and skilled. She keeps surprising both Arnold and the audience with her clever decisions and kind heart.
Rishe is incredibly strong, and even though Arnold is the one who was responsible for her death before, she shows no signs of fear. Her hostility to the prince is understandable, but she still gives him a chance and actually listens to what he has to say.
In Rishe’s previous lives she always died because of the war Arnold had started. But this time she thinks that she can change her future. 7th Time Loop feels like an “I can change him” series in a way. And who if not Rishe would be the perfect person for this job?
Fans also point out how well-written Rishe’s character is. She stands out among the endless Mary Sues of the anime world, and it feels refreshing.
She’s not just there to hype up a male lead or to be an insufferable love-stricken teenager. Rishe is compelling and interesting, and we have a feeling that she’ll keep charming us with each episode of the series.
