Before getting to our list, let's remember some things about Slytherins. Even though the common idea seems to be that this Hogwarts house is filled with villains and baddies, it's not entirely true.
Slytherins possess a lot of different traits, such as ambition, cunningness, resourcefulness and confidence. Although they are usually portrayed as people who care only about themselves and are ready to break the rules if it may benefit them, they are not just pure evil.
These characters are extremely intelligent, they just choose to use this intelligence for their own sake. Slytherins tend to rely only on themselves because no one else can be trusted, and, well, they don't need anyone else's help, because they are too powerful for that.
Now let's discuss some examples of this scary confidence and see if they're really worthy of being called true Slytherins.
1. Lelouch ー Code Geass
Reserved, sophisticated and arrogant, this character can easily surprise you with his intricate plans and schemes. His unmatched intelligence and stoic personality are what make him so effective when it comes to pursuing his goals. The protagonist doesn't think it's necessary to pay attention to trivial things that are of no use for him, such as homework, for example. Lelouch enjoys challenges and feeling superior to his opponents.
2. Ciel ー Black Butler (Kuroshisuji)
Despite his very young age, Ciel is already a wonderful strategist. The boy is very perceptive and cunning, he knows exactly what he wants and is not afraid to use all means possible (for example, his demon butler) to get the desired result. Ciel's traumatic experience and suffering has made him uncaring about a lot of things and people's feelings. His analysis skills are also impressive, and sometimes it feels like the boy looks straight into your soul.
3. Norman ー The Promised Neverland (Yakusoku no Neverland)
Even though Norman might look like a typical Ravenclaw due to his wits at first sight, we believe that his intelligence is closer to the one of Slytherin's. The boy's not just clever, he is not afraid to add a little bit of manipulation to his skills. Norman is quite ambitious and wants to make everything work his way. He's also a realist and doesn't tend to romanticize the world: when he learns the truth about it, he starts working on a plan of how to deal with it. Although Norman does care about other people, his priority is always him and only those who are dear to him.
4. Yuuichi ー Tomodachi Game
It took Yuuichi a bit of time to show his truly sinister side, but such darkness couldn't be contained forever. This character is one of the stereotypical Slytherins: ruthless, cunning, clever and mischievous. If someone is on his way, they will be destroyed. If someone tries to outsmart him, they will be most likely disappointed. Yuuichi himself claims that there are people more intelligent than him, but he's ready to use deceit to outplay them.
5. Power ー Chainsaw Man
This girl might not be the first choice that comes to your mind when you think of a Slytherin, but don't let it fool you. Power takes only one motivation into account ー her own. This character feels the need to be the superior one. Despite her rushing into a battle like a brave Gryffindor, she's being clever about that. If Power is outnumbered or feels like she's not going to come out as a victor out of a fight, she has no issues with running away.
6. Light ー Death Note
Light is the epitome of ambition. His goal is to create a new world and rule this world like a god. He's incredibly narcissistic and knows exactly how brilliant he is. Light does not follow any rules that he deems unimportant, he's the one creating his own rules, and thinks that other people should follow them. The boy's calculating nature helps him arrive at his destination point and become the winner even in the most difficult situations. And if someone is in Light's way, well… We can only feel sorry for that poor soul.
7. Eren ー Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin)
Although starting like a pretty stereotypical Gryffindor, this character turns into something much more complex later. The season 4 plot twist with his father alone can show how ruthless and devious he can be with his manipulation. The entire final season feels like one big scheme planned by Eren, and we get more and more surprised by this character with each episode. He's never had any problems with bending the rules if he believed it was for the greater good, and managed to achieve his goal no matter how many tries it would take him.
8. Gojo ー Jujutsu Kaisen
While usually portrayed as detached or playful, Gojo is not the type of character to be relaxed around. His immense power gives him extreme confidence and even makes him a bit narcissistic when it comes to a battle. Gojo feels his superiority and is not shy about it: telling his opponent that they are about to be destroyed is not something new to him. His pride and arrogance combined with cunningness and intelligence become a fierceful mix that scares his enemies.
