This is not the first time the world experiences an Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin) game. Back in 2016 Omega Force (a Japanese video game developer) released an action video game based on the series, and followed it with a sequel in 2018. Both games were retellings of the original series and allowed players to feel like their favorite Attack on Titan characters.

A solo game developer and YouTube user Swammy decided that we need more AOT games and made a new one by himself. He introduces the project in his new video and shares some details. Over two years ago, Swammy released an Attack on Titan game, which has received a bunch of updates since then. The developer wasn’t particularly satisfied with the way the game looked and played, so he had another idea: the project needs to be remade.
Swammy says he’s been working on the new game for a long time now. He’s currently working on an upcoming RPG gacha game, Mecha Attack, so the time has been a tricky issue for him. However, he managed and is ready to present his new Attack on Titan project.
Previous issues have been fixed
The developer made a list of criticisms about his previous game that fans had, and tried to focus on fixing the issues. ODM gear mechanics, titan design, visuals and graphics were the main points that gamers mentioned. Swammy promises that the game’s got much better, although you’ll probably still find a bunch of issues with it, since it’s just the first build and a lot of things will not be working in it. He’s looking forward to getting any feedback on the game, so that further updates can be made.
The game is made with Unreal Engine 5, which is one of the most advanced game development engines. However, don’t get too excited, since the new Attack on Titan game is a solo dev project, so it’s physically impossible for it to explore all the possibilities the engine offers. But Swammy definitely did his best to make the game look and feel enjoyable. The game can be downloaded and played for free via the link the developer posted on his YouTube channel.
Swammy also asks people to support other fan-made Attack on Titan games on his X.
His game wasn’t made with the intention to compete with others, but to have fun. And the more games there are, the more fun the fandom will have.
