The official trailer of Final Chapters Part 2 is finally here!
Waiting for the anime finale of Attack on Titan feels like it can be best explained by Sirius Black from Harry Potter: “I did my waiting! 12 years of it!” The Final Season was first announced in June 2019, and since then we’ve had Part 1, Part 2, The Final Chapters Part 1, and now we’re having… The Final Chapters Part 2! Looks like it’s finally safe to say that this time it IS the final chapter of the story.
The trailer for The Final Chapters Part 2 was unofficially leaked a day before its official release, but now it’s really here and we’ve got something we’ve been eagerly waiting for: the release date! Part 2 will air on November 4th and hopefully be the closure we all needed. Let’s take a closer look at the trailer and discuss some speculations. Don’t worry, we’re going to focus on the anime only, so there won’t be any manga spoilers.
The trailer doesn’t really show us much. It starts with Eren saying that he’s been a slave to freedom, which is a hauntingly beautiful metaphor for what’s happening to the main protagonist. All of our beloved characters make an appearance accompanied by a heroic soundtrack, and it looks like they’re not just fighting Eren’s monstrous titan form, but also something else. If you look closely, you may see the Jaw Titan, but it doesn’t look like Falco’s titan form, so that might mean some old titans are coming back. That’s not the only strange thing about Jaw Titan’s appearance: it’s also void of color and resembles the structures that War Hammer Titan can create. The battle in the trailer looks intense, and knowing Attack on Titan, we can only hope that all our favorite characters will survive that fight.
It’s too early to go deeper into the animation and art style, but for now it looks pretty much the same: stunning. Fans have also noticed that the titans look 2D in the trailer which they say to be a good thing because CGI titans got some criticism in the past.
The trailer carefully tries to avoid any spoilers, as it would be a crime to spoil such a long-awaited finale. But it looks like it’s going to be packed with action and emotion, just like every other Attack on Titan episode.
Even though it’s just a 30-second trailer, it doesn’t fail to get you all hyped up for the last part of this more-than-10-year journey. The story will finally end in November, and as some people say, “we’re not watching another anime coming to an end, we’re watching history being made”.
