Denji and Reze

It’s almost love at first sight for Denji. He sees a pretty girl, gives her a flower, and wants to spend more time with her. However, she turns out to be somewhat Makima 2.0, as she is only with him for the Chainsaw Man’s heart.

The arc ends with Reze changing her mind about Denji. She wanted to come back to him and perhaps even try to start an actual relationship, but Makima kills her and ruins everyone’s dreams once again. And this is the most perfect ending to this love story, hear us out.

The series has a unique take on romantic love

Although love is not a foreign concept for Chainsaw Man, the series doesn’t have any place for happy romantic relationships. It explores the cruelty and brutality of the world, and that is why fans love it so much.

Reze’s death was in the series not to serve as another shock factor, but to remind Denji and readers how unforgiving the world of Chainsaw Man is. It doesn’t have a place for romance, this concept is too minor compared to other things going on in the series.

And it’s exactly why we love Chainsaw Man so much. We’re shown another side of love in the series: the cruel one.

Denji thought he loved Makima, but she betrayed him and toyed with him. Denji loved Reze, but she left and was murdered. It was never supposed to have a typical romantic storyline, and this is very unique about the series.

On top of that, a number of fans don’t really think that Denji could ever be romantically involved with Reze even if she had come back to him successfully. There was a chance for them to become great friends, just like he was with Power, but that’s it.

No matter how much fans love Reze and how much they miss her, they all agree that the ending of her arc was perfect. It was everything you’d expect from Chainsaw Man: surprising, unfortunate, brutal, and unforgiving. And we wouldn’t like it any other way.

Its world is too cruel for it anyway.
