Sad news: definitely not this year.

Chainsaw Man Season 2 finished airing in 2022, and it’s been more than a year since we last saw any part of this incredible story animated.
Fans were waiting for news about this series for so long that they started losing hope bit by bit. However, the Reze movie announcement came and brought back their faith in humanity. But still, no news about Season 2.
It won’t come out before the movie
No matter how painful it is to say, we have to do it: Season 2 will not get announced before the Reze movie is out. And since we don’t even know the exact release date of the movie, it’ll definitely take some time.
There are no chances that the second season will air anywhere in 2024, but there’s a small chance that it’ll at least get announced this year.
The movie was announced in December 2023; that’s why we can expect it to come out somewhere in late 2024 or early 2025. There hasn’t been an official confirmation of that, but there will be enough time to get it finished by then.
Moreover, the movie is a direct sequel to the events of the first season, so Season 2 just can’t come out before it. There will hardly be any conversations about another season before the Reze arc is out. So brace yourselves, you’ll probably have to wait until 2025 before you hear anything about the season.
Season 2
There’s still some great news, since fans are absolutely sure that Season 2 will happen, it’s just a matter of time. Chainsaw Man is an immensely popular manga series, and the good part of it is just ahead of us, and MAPPA surely knows it, too.
We expect the Reze movie to become a huge success, since this arc is loved by so many fans and they’ll naturally want to watch the anime. And if it’s successful, Season 2 is a must.
After the Bomb Girl Arc that will be adapted in the Reze movie, there will be just three arcs to finish Part 1 of the manga: International Assassins (Chapters 53-70), Gun Devil (Chapters 71-79), Control Devil (Chapters 80-97). So basically, there are just 45 chapters.
This is not that many chapters, so it feels natural that MAPPA would want to finish adapting at least the first part of the manga.
The second season won’t even have to be long, fans think 12 episodes again will be enough. Which gives us even more certainty that Season 2 will come one day, it wouldn’t be smart to stop now
