Dead Dead Demons Dededede Destruction is an upcoming post-apocalyptic science fiction anime based on the manga of the same name written and illustrated by Inio Asano. The anime adaptation was announced back in 2022, and the wait is very close to being over. Dead Dead Demons Dededede Destruction will be a two-chapter movie series, and the first one is scheduled for March 2024.
The story follows two girls, Kadode Koyama and Ouran Nakagawa, who live in a world where mysterious alien Invaders appeared over Tokyo. A large spaceship is looming over the citizens, engulfing the city skyscape. However, Kadode and Ouran keep living their simple school girl lives: they attend classes, play with their friends and just have fun. As they grow up, a bigger understanding comes to the girls: the frightening Invaders aren’t the greatest danger, it is people, who are the true monsters.

A teaser and a key visual are out
A short teaser for the anime is here, and it’s just as weird (in a good sense) as you could have expected it to be. The video provides a lot of fascinating contrast: one moment you see the two girls standing and discussing simple things, and the next one shows you a giant spaceship, promising great danger. The entire teaser is just one big contrast between Kadode and Ouran’s normal lives and threatening machines, capable of destroying humanity. The choice of music is incredible. While providing a rather quiet vibe, it also reminds you of something sinister and distressing. And the way it cuts out with a glitch at the end promises even more danger.
The visual is just like the teaser in this way. You can clearly see the huge spaceship behind the girls, but they still look excited and ready to hang out with their friends.
We can’t wait
Fans are hyped for the upcoming premiere. They say that the art style in the teaser looks very faithful to Asano's, and the animation pleasantly surprised them: it is much better than they expected. Production +h is animating the movies, and this studio doesn’t really have any big projects to represent itself, so there were worries, of course. But for now everything looks promising, and manga readers are optimistic. And who knows, maybe Dead Dead Demons Dededede Destruction will become the big hit that Production +h needs to become more recognizable.
