Delicious in Dungeon (Dungeon Meshi) Episode 11 confused and even shocked a lot of anime-only viewers. Laios’ party has finally found Falin inside the Red Dragon, but it turns out there wasn’t much to find. All that was left of her were a couple of bones and her magic staff.
While it might not be the best time to panic, since we know that resurrection exists in Delicious in Dungeon, it’s still a bit worrisome, since fans just can’t figure out how one can go back from there. But Episode 12 preview gives a couple of ideas.
Marcille will try to bring Falin back
As we see in the preview, the party has collected all the remains of Falin and put them together. Marcille has her staff and a determined look, and it’s clear: some serious magic is about to happen. There’s no doubt that she’ll try to resurrect her friend, but will she succeed?
Let’s get the most upsetting prediction out of the way: Marcille may fail. This would be a major plot twist for the series, and would allow for some serious drama to be introduced into the anime. No one wants that, since it would change the tone of Delicious in Dungeon, and fans want it to remain a hilarious adventure.
Falin comes back
But the biggest hope is that Falin will indeed be resurrected and join the party for even more adventures. Fans think that the series might torture us a bit, though, and make this process take some time, but they want nothing more than to see the party reunited.
The most interesting thing, however, is the way Falin will be resurrected. There’s an idea that Marcille will do something with the dragon’s body. She might use the remains as biomass and create a new body for Falin out of it.
It hasn’t been revealed in the anime yet how exactly the process works, so fans don’t know if Marcille will even need something to create a new body from, but they think it would be cool if the materia and skin don’t just appear out of nowhere.
From the looks on everyone’s faces in the preview, the spell Marcille is about to cast is highly unethical, so fans are expecting some dark things to happen in the episode. But they love Falin and want her back, so there’s no doubt: it will be worth it. They just hope Falin will be herself when she comes back to life.
